Professor Serife Sevinc has stayed in Valencia for an academic visit, participating in a seminar and doing some research work with memebers of the group.

Between December 9 and 14, 2025, Professor Serife Sevinc, from Örebro University (Sweden), paid an academic visit to the Department of Mathematics Education at the University of Valencia to participate in research activities related to the CIGE/2024/64 emerging research group project.

This visit is part of the close scientific collaboration that Professor Sevinc maintains with several members of the project team. The following activities took place during the visit:

1) Research Seminar: On Wednesday, December 10, Professor Sevinc gave a talk entitled “Problem solving and problem posing in modelling tasks” at the department's Research Seminar. The session was particularly relevant for the members of the CIGE/2024/64 project, as she presented her most recent research on posing and solving modelling problems, a topic directly related to the project's objectives. The seminar was an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and the generation of new lines of work.

2) Collaborative research work: Throughout the week, Professor Sevinc worked with Carlos Segura (Project Principal Investigator) and Irene Ferrando (research team member) on the analysis and discussion of data from an ongoing study. This work allowed progress in the preparation of a scientific article that has been invited to be published in a special issue of the Asian Journal for Mathematics Education (SJR Q3), scheduled for publication in March 2026.

Professor Serife Sevinc's visit represents a significant boost to the research activities of the CIGE/2024/64 project, strengthening international collaboration and the group's scientific output. As Principal Investigator of the CIGE/2024/64 project, Carlos Segura expresses his gratitude for the funding of Professor Serife Sevinc's trip.
