The International Conference on the Regulation of the Sharing Economy will be held on November 20-22, 2019, at the University of Valencia (Spain). The regulation of the phenomenon of platform economy, collaborative economy and similar phenomena will be attracted. In particular, various issues that will be addressed in the papers and communications are revealed in the framework of the Conference: labor law; tax law; public law; short-term accommodation; tourism; urban mobility; transportation; taxi industry; scooters; bike-sharing; meal-sharing; data protection; big data; consumer protection; discrimination; better regulation; competition; digital economy; multi-sided markets; reputational systems.

Confirmed Keynote Speakers

  • Prof. Barbara Engels (German Economic Institute): economist (Bachelor and Master of Science), works as a researcher at the Research Unit “Digitalization, Structural Change and Competition" at the German Economic Institute (IW).
  • Prof. Guido Smorto (Università degli Studi di Palermo):  Full Professor of Comparative law at University of Palermo. His last articles focus on the digital economy, the platform economy and peer-to-peer markets, with a special focus on EU law.
  • Prof. Janneke Gerards (Universiteit Utrecht):Professor in Law, Economics and Governance at Utrecht University School of Law. Her research focuses on fundamental rights, equal treatment law, judicial review and constitutional law.
  • Prof. Juan Luis Jiménez (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria): Lecturer in Economics at University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. His last researches focus on competition policy, industrial organization, energy and retail petrol market, transport economic and tourism.
  • Prof. Naomi Schoenbaum (GW University): Associate Professor of Law at GW University. Her research interests are at the intersection of employment law, family law, and gender.
  • Dr. Rossana Ducato (Université Catholique de Louvain): postdoctoral researcher in Law at UCL. Her research interests are the sharing economy, online social networks, Big and Open Data, cloud computing, drones, research biobanks and health information technologies.
