The Econcult researcher participates in an academic event on Input-Output analysis in Gijon

Almost twenty years ago, a group of researchers from several Spanish universities had the audacity to launch an initiative that they had been pursuing for some time but had not been able to materialize until this date: the holding of conferences of research where the subject revolves around input-output analysis and directed especially to the Spanish-speaking community. This idea managed to be put into practice in September 2005, when the University of Oviedo hosted the 1st Days of Input-Output Analysis. Seen in perspective, it was a relatively minor event, with just over thirty works presented and barely a day and a half long. It was also a congress that laid the foundations for some routines that have been consolidated over time, such as the holding of sessions in Spanish and English and the special attention given to young researchers. The 2005 Conferences, in fact, had the presence as a speaker of Emilio Fontela in one of his last participations in congresses and who has been honored at each of the Conferences since 2009 with the award that bears his name.
