The call launched by the European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy examines the impact of the digital, green and social transitions on the Cultural and Creative Sectors.
The European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy (EJCMP) has opened the call for papers for the Special Issue “Creative Work and Cultural Production in the Triple Transition: Digital, Green and Social Transformations”, an international editorial initiative coordinated by Jordi Sanjuán and Pau Rausell-Köster from the University of Valencia, together with Alessandro Crociata and Pier Luigi Sacco from the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, Italy.
The Special Issue is the result of collaboration between the four researchers and aims to foster scholarly debate on the profound changes reshaping the Cultural and Creative Sectors through the digital, green and social transitions. The call seeks international contributions examining how these transformations are redefining creative work, cultural production, organisations and public policies related to culture.
The editors highlight that digitalisation, environmental sustainability imperatives and evolving social dynamics are changing the ways culture is created, produced, distributed and consumed. In this context, the Special Issue seeks to generate new evidence and analytical frameworks that can contribute to understanding the challenges and opportunities faced by the Cultural and Creative Sectors.
Main thematic areas
The call welcomes contributions addressing the transformation of creative professions and the new competences required; the impact of artificial intelligence and other digital technologies on creative processes; the integration of environmental sustainability criteria into cultural production; and new organisational, production and innovation models.
It also includes topics related to social inclusion, diversity and inequalities in cultural work; the platformisation of cultural ecosystems; public policies and governance models for the triple transition; the role of European projects and international cooperation networks; and the ethical, legal and regulatory challenges associated with emerging technologies.
Innovative methodologies based on big data, digital tools and computational methods applied to the analysis of cultural production, audiences and sectoral dynamics are also encouraged.
The initiative strengthens scientific cooperation between the University of Valencia and the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, bringing together the expertise of Jordi Sanjuán, Pau Rausell-Köster, Alessandro Crociata and Pier Luigi Sacco in cultural economics, cultural policy, innovation and the Cultural and Creative Sectors.
The Special Issue aims to become a reference forum for researchers, public authorities and professionals interested in analysing the effects of the triple transition on cultural ecosystems and on the ways culture is organised, produced, distributed and governed.
The journal accepts original research articles, literature reviews, policy briefs and other forms of scholarly contribution. Although it is not mandatory, the editors encourage the prior submission of a manuscript summary of no more than 1,000 words, outlining the study’s objectives, main research questions, theoretical framework, methodology, findings or arguments, and original contribution.
