Pau Rausell will participate in the Conference on Culture and Medium-sized Cities to be held in Cuenca on 16 and 17 September. This is a mixed face-to-face and online conference.

In the conference, as you can see in the programme, there are researchers, but also many people (managers, politicians or businessmen) who make decisions every day about how tourism is and how it will be in medium and small cities; and it is from the exchange of opinions that new ways of approaching these economic sectors that allow our cities to improve the quality of life and the daily life of their inhabitants will come out. The event is organised by members of the project 'CyTEs. Culture and territory in Spain. Processes and impacts in small and medium-sized cities', researchers from the universities of Zaragoza, La Rioja, Castilla-La Mancha and Autónoma de Madrid, and represents the end of a process of more than five years since they began drafting the project to present it to the calls of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. Among these researchers is Diego Barrado from the Autonomous University of Madrid with whom Econcult has a growing relationship.

Programme and registration

Pau Rausell's intervention on Thursday 16 September at 16.00 will focus on the role of culture in the urban cultural ecosystem of medium-sized cities.

ECONCULT's relationship with the research group stems from the participation just before the pandemic in an event held at the end of January 2020 in the city of Huesca where Pau Rausell was invited to give a lecture on new ways of measuring the social impact of culture.
