The Faculty of Economics hosts a conference on the external projection of Spain's cultures.

Sense Madrid. Sen Madrid. Madril Gabe' has the collaboration of the Observatori Cultural de la Universitat de València and Culturalink.

València, 6 May 2024. - The Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València will be the venue on Friday 10 May for ‘Sense Madrid. Sen Madrid. Madril Gabe', a conference to discuss the external projection of the cultures of Spain in a global world through technicians and experts from different places. The activity, which is part of the Cultura als Campus programme of the University of Valencia, is organised by the university research group Econcult, with the collaboration of the Observatori Cultural UV and Culturalink.

Throughout the morning, experts and technicians from Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia and the Valencian Community, who manage or analyse the internationalisation processes of their cultures, together with some of the people responsible for the global projection of Spanish culture, will meet at this activity.

The opening will be given by Francisco Muñoz, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Valencia, and Pau Rausell, Director of the Research Area on the Economics of Culture and Tourism (Econcult).

Later, at 9:50 a.m., the first discussion will take place, with the participation of Lluís Bonet, Professor of Public Economics and Director of the Cultural Management Programme at the University of Barcelona; Xosé M. Núñez Seixas, Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Santiago de Compostela and Vice-President of the Consello da Cultura Galega, and José Luís Rivero, Artistic Director of the Auditorio de Tenerife.

At 11:15 a.m., Ester Alba, Vice-Rector for Culture and Society at the University of Valencia, will moderate the second discussion, which will include the participation of Inmaculada Ballesteros, Director of Programming at Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), and Carmen Jordán, Director of Creative Industries at ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones (ICEX Spain Export and Investment Agency).

The third panel will feature talks by Luis Ben, president of La Comuna del Sur; Irene Larraza Aizpurua, director general of the Etxepare Basque Institute, and Francesc Felipe, deputy director of Audiovisuals at the Institut Valencià de Cultura (2022-2024), and will be moderated by Tony Murphy of Culturalink.

To end the day, at 1 p.m. there will be a general discussion so that participants and the public can talk about the topics covered during the event.
