The authors first analyse the professional profile of cultural heritage managers, considering that, given the characteristics of heritage management activity in Spain and the current discussions on the university insertion of cultural management, this is a paradigmatic case of the difficulties involved in defining the training offer, the labour market and the professional profiles linked to the cultural sector in our country. Secondly, and following the model of the three categories provided by X. Greffe, the authors attempt to approach the three categories of the cultural sector. Greffe, they try to approach the structure and percentage composition of the labour market linked to heritage in Spain. The main difficulty in this task lies in the virtual absence of reliable data and research. They then point out some possibilities for growth in employment, closely related to public policies and cultural tourism. Finally, they review the characteristics of the training offer in the field of heritage management.
