Muchas y diversas: las mujeres de las series y el cine (Many and diverse: women of TV series and cinema)

Online workshop by:

Film Historian and Art History UV Professor Áurea Ortiz

Presented by:

Adela Cortijo. Director of the UV University Culture Service

In the webinar 'Many and diverse: women in series and film', film historian and professor of Art History at the University of Valencia, Áurea Ortiz, will address the situation of women in the audiovisual industry and the important transformations that are being experienced in this regard both in the industry and in terms of representation. The image of women in series and cinema has changed significantly in recent years, especially in the field of series, although less so in commercial cinema. The push for feminism and the increase in supply due to the growth of platforms has meant that there are now more women protagonists and that they are more diverse. But there is still a long way to go: the percentage of women in production, directing and screenwriting is still low.

All webinars are re-aired live on the Google Meet platform. Registration is necessary and free and can be carried out at: https://www.uv.es/webinarslanau
