Marc Ribot is one of the most respected and demanded guitarists on the New York scene. This avant-garde composer, improviser and accompanist has participated in a multitude of eclectic projects ranging from free jazz to rock, blues and Cuban music, making him one of the most versatile musicians of our time. His long list of collaborations includes artists such as Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Solomon Burke, Marianne Faithfull, Caetano Veloso, John Zorn and Hal Willner, among many others. Ribot is also a committed musician who actively fights for artists' rights with the group Musicians Action. He is the author of the book Sin cuerdas: Desvaríos e historias de un guitarrista del ruido (Unstrung: Rants and Stories of a Noise Guitarist, Akashic Books, 2021) and on 9 May he will be at the Universitat de València’s Cultural Centre La Nau to talk about his work and his political commitment.
