The EASD School of Art and Superior Design of Valencia, CREARIO Research Group in Cultural Pedagogies (GIUV2013-103) and the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations of the University of Valencia, promote these Seminars that consolidate the work carried out by our university in recent years in relation to research in Art Education.
We are motivated by the interest in renewing the possibilities that research and teaching of Design bring to learning environments, raising the possibility of generating propitious moments to spread knowledge of design, especially in the educational field. We want to generate a space for reflection without losing sight of the spirit of Collaboration and the physical involvement of the attendees. The participation of relevant university researchers and prestigious designers, institutional managers, teachers, and all those people who, both from the educational perspective and from the university, the different educational levels and the business world, are interested in analyzing the current situation of research and education in design is planned.
This is a very innovative proposal, since it had not been previously addressed. What we want is to integrate the concepts of research and education in the field of Design, in order to review what has been done so far in this area, and above all to manage proposals for the future. The success of previous calls organized by the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations, this new academic meeting.
The VIII International Seminar on Research in Art Education “Research and education in Design” is planned from the perspective of Horizon 2020 (H2020), the new Framework Programme of the European Commission for research and innovation, since it is an activity based entirely on the interest in Innovation, an initiative designed to ensure the competitiveness of Europe at a global level. By uniting representatives of civil society, the business world and the academic world, we propose scientific excellence, promoting top-level research. It also constitutes a social challenge, since it faces the challenge of an increasingly ageing society. We encourage international participation by promoting it through a new strategy that will allow a broad approach, breaking down any barriers to creating a real environment for knowledge, research and innovation.
