On these Conferences we analyse the novelty that it presents to teach at virtual museums, with the intention of reaching interesting conclusions within the fields of culture, teaching and the pedagogical use of institutions which are currently developing an important digital aspect. The Conferences consolidate the work done by CREARI in recent years, addressing issues regarding art education and visual culture from a pedagogical point of view. Thought for those who, either from a professional perspective or from a teaching practice perspective, could be interested in analysing the current situation and handling future proposals in the field of museums and heritage education, the digital humanities and artificial intelligence. We analyse the technological innovations and the new educational and creative uses of the digital technological improvements.

The creative identities emerge during youth and suffer transformation, therefore young generations are more sensitive to social, emotional and relational experiences, all being able to influence both positively or negatively in the progress of the creative identity. The progress of creativity in teenagers is a research field that must be addressed academically. We must attempt to transform the museums into interactive spaces, as well as a space in which young audiences can interact and socialise just like users from any age range. The teaching and mediation problematic that arises after the introduction of digital improvements motivates us to recognise that the situation of the heritage institutions and museums need to have a bigger presence in the academic research. Even though there’s been an increase in the usage of museums, we need academic gathering such as this one as well so that researchers have face-to-face meetings to spur reflection and communication.

The accessibility to online applications is a key recognition factor of the museums as a space with huge potential to get close with teachers and students, a phenomena that puts in the hands of users of any age programmes and applications to share realities that up until now, had been left practically unattended by academic research. Another great challenge in the dissemination and analysis of what is happening is the appearance of new virtual models that are being incorporated into the recreational and entertainment world to constantly rethink the teaching practices. Due to our research tradition about image and education, as well as teacher training, having worked for decades in issues related with the visual culture and teaching, we consider that the Creari Research Group on Cultural Pedagogies (GIUV2013-103) from the Universitat de València is ready to accept this academic and university challenge requiring careful and reliable research of what is currently happening and that which we want to improve in everything regarding education in museums and cultural heritage pedagogies.
