This project presents a preliminary technical analysis of the internationalisation potential of cultural and creative sectors in the Canary Islands. It focuses on identifying priority subsectors beyond audiovisual industries, assessing structural strengths and weaknesses, and defining strategic lines for public intervention. The report highlights that, despite a growing economic and creative relevance, these sectors face persistent barriers, including business fragmentation, limited international networks, weak management capacities, and territorial imbalances. Several subsectors show significant potential, such as performing arts, cultural heritage, design, crafts, and creative services, although their capacity for sustained internationalisation remains constrained. In response, the project proposes the development of the PROEXCA-Cultura programme as a structural policy instrument aimed at strengthening capacities, fostering cooperation, and facilitating access to international markets. The document constitutes an intermediate stage in a broader process, laying the analytical and strategic foundations for a future operational programme to support the international projection of Canary Islands’ cultural ecosystem.
