The main goal of the Chair is to conduct research, teaching, cultural and reflexive programmes focused on the understanding, analysis and encouraging of public economic and social policies. The main tasks of the Chair will consist in carrying out acts and activities related to the investigation, promotion and dissemination of initiatives that contribute to the dynamism of Economic and Social Policies in the Valencian Community.

In this sense, the Chair looks forward to collaborating within the academic, social and political field, transforming itself into a focus of transference and social mobilization of knowledge. In short, these activities are oriented to the creation of a better Government through improving the decision-making done by the institutions of the Generalitat.

The planned activities are:

1. Research activities about Economic and Social Policies and its relation with the praxis of the government of the Valencian Community, prioritizing the fields related to fiscal, sectorial (such as the agrarian or the industrial sector), intersectoral (related to technological change, the energetic and financial field, infrastructure and environment) and social (linked to immigration, housing, education, public health or social services) policies.
2. The creation of an Observatory of Technopolitics dedicated to recompilation, organisation, systemization and dissemination of the documentation and strategic data related to Economic and Social Policy in the Valencian Community. Its configuration and composition will be determined by the monitoring and control committee specified in the ninth clause.
3. The celebration of seminars and conferences, national and international, of an advanced academic level, with the participation of public and private components, directed to disseminate the results of the researches carried out and with the purpose of enriching and opening the debate to the public.
4. The creation of discussion forums with social agents which allow inclusion of the views from the social reality into the academic perspectives.
5. The conduction of technopolitical studies and reports, of an economic and social profile. It is expected that, during 2024, the conduction of studies and reports about the following topics will be carried out:

• The design of Economic and Social Policies: priorities and calendars.
• The role of socioeconomic agents in the design of Economic and Social Policies.
• New Economic and Social Policy and long-term planning for the Valencian Community.
• Technopolitic counselling lines to help the agents who have to take political decisions regarding the praxis of the government.
• The dissemination of contents about Economic and Social Policy through regulated studies about governance.

6. The promotion of publications regarding Economic and Social Policy.
7. The design of a structure about studying governance.
8. To establish and award prizes for initiatives, programmes, Master’s degree final projects (TFM) and doctoral theses. Only if these are related to the topics of this Chair.
9. Other activities: management of the institutional web of this Chair, the elaboration of summaries for its dissemination, publishing of online documents,...
10. And any other activity related with the objective of this agreement, approved previously by the monitoring and control committee.
