The Family Business Chair has brought together entrepreneurs, managers and students in the classrooms of the 17th edition of the Family Business Course ‘Key aspects for its competitiveness and sustainability’. This course, organised by the Chair of Family Business (CEFUV) and with the support of its promoters - the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE), EDEM Business School, the Valencian Institute for the Study of Family Business (IVEFA), the Institute of Family Business (IEF), the University of Valencia (UV) - together with the collaboration of Broseta and CaixaBank, offers participants a complete overview of the fundamental characteristics of family businesses.
The closing ceremony took place at the Faculty of Economics, where promoters, sponsors, teachers and students gathered to celebrate the end of the course. Alejandro Escribá, Director of the Chair, opened the event by thanking all the promoters and collaborators for their commitment, support and generosity, and highlighted the sustained success of the course, which has been training professionals in this field for 17 years.
This edition had an exceptional group of students and teachers. The diversity of profiles enriched the experience for everyone, generating a collaborative and dynamic learning space.
Participants acquired key knowledge and tools for the management and resolution of challenges in family businesses, delving into the essential aspects to improve their competitiveness and sustainability. They also broadened their professional training with a more solid understanding of the reality, organisation and strategy of this type of business.
During the event, three students represented the group to share their impressions of the course:
- Pau Gaspar Domingo Gaggio (Student of the Universitat de València).
- Silvia Valero Bosch (FAST DEVELOPERS S.L.).
- Asun Valero Bosch (FAST DEVELOPERS S.L.).
For their part, promoters and collaborators addressed a few words to the attendees, highlighting the importance of continuing to support the Chair and its activities. They underlined that this course offers valuable tools for the management of property, family and business, and highlights the fundamental role that family businesses play in society.
Finally, we are especially grateful for the participation of Ángeles Solanes, Vice-Rector for Lifelong Learning, Teaching Transformation and Employment, who accompanied this very special closure. She stressed the importance of education at the public university and the value of promoting courses that integrate students and entrepreneurs, thus promoting an enriching exchange of knowledge.
