The Family Business Chair brought together business owners, executives and students in the 18th edition of the Family Business Course, “Family Business: Key Aspects for Competitiveness and Long-Term Sustainability”. Organised by the Family Business Chair (CEFUV) and supported by its promoters the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE), EDEM Business School, the Valencian Institute for the Study of Family Business (IVEFA), the Family Business Institute (IEF) and the University of Valencia (UV) together with the collaboration of Broseta and CaixaBank, the course provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental characteristics of family businesses.
The closing ceremony took place at the Faculty of Economics, where promoters, sponsors, lecturers and students gathered to celebrate the completion of the course. Alejandro Escribá, Director of the Family Business Chair, opened the event by expressing his gratitude for the commitment, support and generosity of all the promoting and collaborating organisations, and highlighted the sustained success of the course, which has been training professionals in this field for 18 years.
This edition brought together an exceptional group of participants and lecturers. The diversity of backgrounds enriched the experience for all attendees, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
Throughout the programme, participants acquired key knowledge and tools for managing and addressing the challenges faced by family businesses, while deepening their understanding of the essential factors that contribute to their competitiveness and long-term sustainability. They also strengthened their professional development through a more comprehensive understanding of the reality, governance, organisation and strategy of family businesses.
During the closing ceremony, three participants represented the student body and shared their reflections on the course, as well as their personal experiences related to family businesses:

The event also included recognition of the lecturers who received the highest evaluations from students in the course satisfaction surveys. This year, the award was presented to María Beltrán (BFamilyB & UCV) and Tomás González (University of Valencia), in recognition of their educational contribution and the outstanding work carried out during their sessions.
Representatives of the promoting and collaborating organisations also addressed the audience, emphasising the importance of continuing to support the Family Business Chair and its activities. They highlighted that the course provided valuable tools for managing ownership, family and business relationships, and stressed the fundamental role that family businesses play in society.
