
The Observatory on Government, Strategy and Competitiveness of Companies (GECE) presents its Key "The largest companies and those in the most technology-intensive sectors achieve better levels of competitiveness" In collaboration with the Chair of Family Business of the University of Valencia, promoted by Bankia and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE).
The key analyzes the competitiveness of Valencian companies and their relationship with their corporate governance, management and strategy. This Key sets out a classification of companies from four levels or stages of competitiveness: superior, solid, modest and fragile. The data show that, for the total Valencian companies, only 22.9% is in the group of most competitive companies in the country. In this group of "superior" companies, the presence of medium- or large enterprises (26.8%), and technology-intensive sectors (25.6%) is more common. By contrast, in the group of "fragile" companies only 8.3% are medium or large, and 11.5% operate in high-tech sectors.
