Seminar: What do we do about fiscal policy?

Jorge Uxó González, Complutense University, will give the seminar (in Spanish) ‘And now, what do we do about fiscal policy?’.

Uxó is tenured university lecturer of Applied Economics, attached to the Department of Applied Economics, Public and Political Economics and the Faculty oy Information Sciences (since July 2022). Previously, he was a lecturer in Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the University of Castilla - La Mancha. Between January 2020 and August 2021 he was Director of the Cabinet of the State Secretariat for Social Rights (Spanish Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030). He has been Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Talavera de la Reina (2017-2018). Previously he was a lecturer at the Complutense University (Faculty of Economics and Business Studies and Faculty of Law) and at the CEU San Pablo University (Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, where he was Dean, Vice-Dean and Director of the Economics Department). His main lines of research are applied macroeconomics, with special reference to the Eurozone and Spain; fiscal policy; post-Keynesian models and demand-led growth; and employment, social protection and the welfare state. He is currently part of the Research Group on Applied Macroeconomics, Fiscal Policy and Employment (MacroAFE).
