Inside the context of the International Tuba Euphonium Conference, ITEC Spain 2025, Valencia takes a special concert of the Orchestra of Valencia that gives value the expressiveness and versatility of the tuba and the euphonium. The programme opens with the Variazioni sulla ritirata notturna di Madrid by Luigi Boccherini, reimagined with a Contemporary orchestra by David del Puerto (*1964) which establishes a bridge between tradition and the present. To continue, the release of the version for euphonium and orchestra of The Unknown Soldier by Ricardo Mollá (*1992), interpreted by Bastien Baumet, a work that gives homage to the anonymous fallen from the Second World War. It will be followed by Flúor, Cobre, Uranio y Vanadio by Andrés Valero-Castells (*1973), a chemistry and Valencian university history celebration. The concert will conclude with the Concierto para tuba de John Williams (*1932), an emblematic score from the contemporary repertoire, interpreted by the well-known soloist Øystein Baadsvik, tuba.
