6:00 p.m. Álvaro Ponsá and puppet theatre during the civil war. In charge of Rafa Segura
Summary:
With the rise of fascism in the 30s, puppet theatre, and more specifically the guiñol went to war. How were the puppet theatre plays during the Spanish civil war? What was the relation between text and representation? What were the logistics behind this kind f theatre during such troubled times?
We will address two of the most importan guiñoles of the time. Miguel Prieto (and his company 'La Tarumba'), and Álvaro Ponsá ('El guiñol de la alianza' and 'El Búho'), who mainly performed in València.
7:00 p.m. The Invisible Riches. Teatres de la Llum.
Summary:
Spain sent 700 women to Australia falsely promising they would be back in two years with money during the early 60s. Teresa is one of those women and Mateo waited for her his entire life.
Within a box-cramped space, Mateo packs the items of his life, the invisible riches that have nutured and been with him but have become memories. By moving out, some will stick with him while others will be forgotten.
