It tells the untold story of three brilliant African American women scientists, Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe), who worked at the NASA space agency in the early 1960s. (in the midst of the space race, and also in the middle of the fight for civil rights for black Americans) in the ambitious project of putting astronaut John Glenn into orbit. (FILMAFFINITY)
