SOS Heritage
Gestión y Salvaguarda del Patrimonio Cultural en Emergencias
The ‘SOS Heritage’ Congress will bring together experts in prevention, management and safeguarding of Cultural Heritage in emergency contexts, from local, national and international spheres
The sessions of this congress will consider Cultural Heritage in its tangible and intangible dimensions. The sessions will focus on fundamental aspects that give viability and sustainability to heritage projects during armed conflicts or natural disasters. In this sense, some of the keys that will be analyzed are local, national and European alliances, which are crucial in these situations, as well as the importance of designing projects focused on the affected communities, which contemplate the gender, intergenerational and educational perspective in reconstruction stages, which must necessarily lead to individual and community well-being.
The heritage safeguarding and social resilience programmes that have been promoted by the Universitat de València on the occasion of Dana 2024, in collaboration with numerous local, national and international entities, both public and private, have represented a context of learning in these times, which lends itself to debate at the ‘SOS Heritage Congress’, which hopes to conclude the two days of exhibitions and debate with a ‘Decalogue of Good Practices in prevention, management and safeguarding of Cultural Heritage in Emergencies’.
ScheduleFrom 6 march 2025 to 7 march 2025. Thursday and friday at 09:30 to 21:00.
