The General Foundation of the Universitat de València, in collaboration with the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, is organising the introductory opera course LES ARTS A LA NAU VII, aimed at university students and students of Higher Arts Education.
The main aim of the course is to promote, deepen and research into opera as a true binding force for all the possible arts. And the ultimate purpose of this approach is to highlight the interrelation of all artistic categories in this genre, within the performance itself and between the performance and the general artistic panorama.
With this course we continue the collaboration and pedagogical cooperation between both entities, which we hope will grow day by day.
– Dates: from 2 December 2022 to 4 June 2023.
– Duration: 30 hours.
– Venue: Palau de les Arts (Av. Profesor López Piñero, 1, 46013 Valencia).
– Requirements: undergraduate or postgraduate university students and students from Higher Arts Education centres aged 28 or under.
– Number of students: minimum 10 and maximum 25.
– Attendance: 80% attendance (you can only miss a session). Students must attend each session in its entirety and sign in all attendance sheets presented throughout the session. Students who meet the attendance requirement will receive a course completion certificate signed by the Vice-Principal for Culture of the Universitat de València.
Course programme
The aim of the course is to foster fondness for the opera genre by attending four live performances (Preestreno hasta 28) of the operas of the 2022-2023 season at the Palau de les Arts.
The training contents of the course are taught in a didactic session, lasting an hour and a half, in which the most important features of each piece and its location in the context of each composer and the history of opera are explained by means of different materials and the visualisation of the most representative fragments.

Students of the Universitat de València: €40,00
Students from other Universities or Higher Arts Education centres: €48,00
(The enrolment fee includes the tickets to the performances, which are personal and non-transferable for the students enrolled).
