Mozart y Salieri

Two men on a stage

La Nau Theatre. By Agrupación Escénica Enrique Rambal d’Utiel

Mozart and Salieri
By Aleksandr Pushkin. Version and direction: Raúl García. By Enrique Rambal d’Utiel Scene Troupe.

'Mozart and Salieri' is a theatre piece written by Alexander Pushkin, adapted and directed by Raúl García. The story is focused around the life of Austrian composer Wolfgang amadeus Mozart and his relation with contemporary, talented but less known composer Antonio Salieri.
The plot comes from Salieri's perspective, deeply jealous of the genius Mozart. Throughout the piece, Salieri fights his own mediocrity and the perception that God bestowed divine talent to Mozart, an inmature and carefree man on his eyes. While Salieri's obsession keeps growing, his admiration turns into resentment and wish of destruction.
This piece explores envy, rivalry, search for fame and the meaning of talent.  Through a narrative of dramatism and emotion, 'Mozart and Salieri offers a fascinating vision of the lives of two brillian composers and the complexities of creativity and ambition.
