As part of the University autumn music programme, the string quartet of the Orquestra Filharmònica de la Universitat de València will play on Sunday, 2 November at 12:00am in the Auditorium Joan Plaça of the Jardí Botànic. 

The people who are part of this quartet are Carla Adelantado Sanz, violin; Miguel Rodríguez Alegre, violin; Alexandre Tormos i Lahuerta, viola; and Juan Marín Llorens, cello.

The quartet was created with the aim of consolidating the mutual understanding among the heads of the string players of the Orquestra. From 2020, its members are also part of the OFUV, where they have had the opportunity to play in great places such as the Auditorium of Zaragoza, the Palau de la Música of València, the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Complutense University of Madrid.

In October 2024, they played the solo parts of the soundtrack of the film ‘The Last Roman’. In 2022, violinist Carla Adelantado won the I Concurso de Composición La Ruta de la Seda, organised by the Professional Conservatory of Music of València and the Giovani Battista Martini Conservatory of Bologna, with the quartet named “Mosaico en ruta”, a multifaceted piece that the public will be able to enjoy at the Botànic on 2 November.
