Universitat de València’s friends and former students have rearranged their schedule of cultural activities in December due to the abnormal circumstances caused by the DANA to the Valencian society and the Alumni Community since 29 October. So the year ended with a free guided visit to Artur Heras’s exhibition in La Nau Cultural Centre “Halt!” on 12 December.

Organised by UV Cultural Volunteering, Alumni UV offered the opportunity to pay a free guided visit to Artur Heras’ latest exhibition “Halt! Thinking Images“, consisting on over 200 pieces, unedited many of them, withing different spaces of the University’s historical bulding, with Anacleto Ferrer as the curator.

Heras, even inspired by autobiographical experience, aims to reflect on global history of the last century. The nazi massacre and much more recent conflicts along with the evolution towards the far right-wing, civil assault, immigrants being deported or Palestine’s bombardments. Hence the exhibition title “Halt!”, German for “Stop!”.

More activities in January
Alumni UV already has cultural events prepared for January 2025. The QUIJOTE reading club (in Spanish) will resume its activities on the 14; a guided tour of the recently opened Espai Vives UV on the 16; and a new date for the free programme Alumni Comparteix on the 30 with the conference “The role of mediation in the resolution of conflicts” by the Alumni Gabriel Izquierdo, taking place at the UV Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy.
