Open access query portal: a corpus of translators

Creation of an open access portal with all the data obtained during our research available to other researchers.
Acronym

PortHistra

Description

Implementation of a database that would combine the corpuses of translators and of scientific and technical translations from French into Spanish (18th-20th century):

  • A dictionary of translators with their bio-bibliographical characteristics.
  • A thematic dictionary of translations with their bibliographical characteristics.
  • A historical scientific and technical terminological corpus based on the data provided by the translations.

From all the aforementioned goals, a main objective arises: scientific dissemination through translations, inherently bound to the dissemination of knowledge. Furthermore, another goal is pursued: the reconstruction of the past of translation in Spain through its protagonists, the translators and their works.
