INNOVA-TEA

The EspaiPòdcastUV of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, is launching the INNOVA-TEA podcast, created within the framework of the Consolidated Group for Teaching Innovation at the University of Valencia GCID23_2590438 and linked to the INNOVA-TEA educational innovation project (UV-SFPIE_PIEC-3325723).

The subject German Language Literature and Audiovisual Arts, part of the Bachelor's Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures, contributes to this initiative by focusing on the creation of audio content as an active learning tool, integrating literary analysis, audiovisual culture and creative production in German.

Within the innovation project, strategies such as classroom theatre, inter-university comparative literature projects and lecture-performance formats, among others, have been implemented, directly connecting academic content with students' artistic production. These practices are developed with a cross-cutting, performative, collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, geared towards active learning and the strengthening of communication, critical and creative skills.

During the 2025/26 academic year, under the direction of Professor Isabel Gutiérrez Koester, students produced seven radio programmes focusing on some of the most significant films of recent decades related to the former GDR, the Berlin Wall and German reunification. The episodes combine fictional interviews in German with critical discussion of historical, aesthetic and cultural aspects based on titles such as Der Himmel über Berlin (Wim Wenders, 1987), Berlin is in Germany (Hannes Stöhr, 2001), Das Leben der Anderen (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, 2006), Barbara (Christian Petzold, 2012), Das schweigende Klassenzimmer (Lars Kraume, 2018) and Ballon (Michael ‘Bully’ Herbig, 2018).

The initiative has institutional recognition and reflects the University of Valencia's commitment to innovative teaching, open to new languages and formats, and fully integrated into the contemporary challenges of teaching the humanities.
