What is INNOVATEA

INNOVA-TEA is a Teaching Innovation Project that has been growing since the 2015-2016 academic year in number of members and, therefore, in subjects, areas of knowledge and educational levels of transfer, as well as expanding its dissemination both nationally and internationally. Its common thread is the application of dramatic techniques in the classroom within the framework of the performative practices proposed by theatre pedagogy.

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE: German Philology, Spanish Philology, Catalan Philology, Theory and History of Education.

KEY WORDS: Theatrical Pedagogy, Lecture-Performance, Podcasts, Vidcasts, Virtual Exchange, InstaLit & Twitteratura, BreakOutEdu, Suitcases & Backpacks 2.0

BACKGROUND:

The common trajectory of the members of the German Philology area began in the academic year 1998-1999 with the project: "Development and elaboration of didactic material for support and self-learning of German and its integration in a multimedia room", led by Herbert Holzinger and financed by the Universitat de València. During the academic year 2007-2008 the project "Coordination and innovation supported by ICT in the German Philology degree course" was developed, also led by Herbert Holzinger and financed by the University of Valencia.

In 2009 and 2010 several members of INNOVA-TEA attended the seminar "Theater im Deutschunterricht" organised by the Goethe-Institut in Berlin. What they learned served as an impulse to further deepen the theatrical pedagogy and the application of dramatic techniques in the classroom, and in the gestation of learning products such as Lecture-Performance.

From the academic year 2015-2016 until today we have been expanding our objectives and verifying the transferability of INNOVA-TEA to other areas of knowledge and other educational levels, as well as strengthening ties with European partner universities with which we continue to design joint projects.
