Biography | ||
[Biography, eng Antonio Capafons Bonet, Ph.D., is full professor (Universitat de València, Spain) and director/advicer of the Clinic of Psychology of the Universitat de València (Fundació Lluis Alcanyís). He is specialist in psychological treatments and hypnosis. He is, as well, Clinical Psychologist, and author of different national and international publications on various topics related to hypnosis and psychological treatments. He is currently researching on the evaluation and modification of attitudes towards hypnosis, on the clinical applications of the Valencia Model of Waking Hypnosis, and the psychometric properties and international adaptations of the Valencia Scales of Attitudes and Beliefs to Hypnosis, all of which he is the creator. His research and professional trajectories in the field of hypnosis have been awarded by the division 30 (Society of Psychological Hypnosis) of the American Psychological Association (2007 -scientific research- and 2011 -professional applications-). Also, he along with other authors was awarded by the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis with the Clark Hull Prize in 2012 for the publication of the adaptation of the Valencia Scale of Beliefs and Attitudes towards Hypnosis, Client version, using an USA’s sample. Likewise, the National Evaluation Committee of the Research Activity has approved six sexennial periods of scientific research, that endorse 36 years of investigation on hypnosis and psychological treatments. He is Fellow of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, and member of the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis, constituent societies of the International Society of Hypnosis, and of the European Society of Hypnosis. He has been founder and currentrly is Head of the Psychological Hypnosis Working Group of the Official Psychology Association of the Valencian Community (Spain). He is, as well, founding member and current vice president (after 8 years being president) of the Association for the Advancement of Experimental and Applied Hypnosis. He is also founding member and has been president of the Spanish Society for the Advancement of Clinical and Health Psychology, Century XXI. He is also founding member of the Society for Interdisciplinary Placebo Studies (SIPS). Biography | ||
Ausiàs Cebolla i Martí, graduated in Psychology from the Universitat de València (Spain) (1996) and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Valencia (2007). He currently works as assistant professor in the Faculty of Psychology, attached to the Department of personality, evaluation and psychological treatment of the Universitat de València. Member of the research group LABPSITEC (www.labpsitec.uji.es) since 2007. His areas of research are mindfulness and meditation (both in terms of effectiveness in interventions and research on mechanisms), virtual reality, positive psychology, and healthy lifestyles. He has participated in local, state, and international research projects. He has collaborated in multiple scientific publications in high impact journals and has participated in national and international conferences. He is especially interested in establishing bridges between meditation and positive psychology. In this line, he has co-designed the Contemplative practices-based well-being program. |

Biography | ||
Dr. Pedro R. Gil-Monte was born in Tobarra (Albacete, Sapina). He iis the Director of the Group of Psychosocial Research on Organizational Behaviour (Unidad de Investigación Psicosocial de la Conducta Organizacional) (UNIPSICO) at University of Valencia, Spain. Currently he is Full Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology in the Department of Social Psychology at that university. He is an active research in the field of Occupational Health Psychology with over two hundred publications including scientific articles, chapters and books. Dr. Gil-Monte has developed the “Spanish Burnout Inventory” (SBI) to evaluate the levels of job burnout and the “UNIPSICO Questionnaire” to evaluate psychosocial risks at work and their consequences on workers health. Dr. Gil-Monte actively participates in research projects granted by public funds (Spanish Government), and as external adviser in education –e.g., universities- health organizations –e.g, hospitals- and companies working in other economic sectors. He serves as member of the editorial board of national and international journals of Psychology, Psychiatry, Public Health, Public Environmental Occupational Health, Management and Public Administration. He is a member of national and international scientific associations such as American Psychological Association (APA), European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EA-OHP), European Association on Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP), Society for Occupational Health Psychology (SOHP), International Coaching and Leadership Association (ICLA), Spanish Scientific Association of Social Psychology (SCEPS), Valencian Society of Psychology (SVP), Academic Division of the Spanish Society of Psychology, Researchers Net on Psychosocial Factors at Work (RIFAPT A.C, Mexico). Awards and distinctions: Government of Jalisco (Mexico, 2008), which recognizes his collaboration to evaluate psychosocial risks in prison employees. RIFAPT (2010), for his contributions to the development of occupational mental health in Latin America. Fidélitas University (Costa Rica, 2010), which recognizes his contributions to Psychology. Chilean Society of Work and Organizational Psychology (SCHIPTO, 2016), recognizing his relevant contributions and research in Work and Organizational Psychology. In addition, as Director of UNIPSICO Dr. Gil-Monte has been awarded with the “Distinction 2014 to the development of researches on occupational risks prevention (Generalitat Valenciana, government of the autonomous community of Valencia). Research Interest. His research primarily involves job stress and its consequences on workers health and organizational productivity. The focus of this research has been directed at psychosocial risks at work, job burnout, bullying and depression. In addition, his interest has involved developing psychological tests and questionnaires to evaluate job burnout and psychosocial factors and risk at work. |

Biography | ||
Juan Carlos Ruiz is Associate Professor in the Department of Methodology of the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Valencia. He teaches Estatistics II in undergraduate degree studies, in the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology and in the Master's Degree in Specialization in Logopedic Intervention. He also teaches in the Doctorate Programme in Clinical and Health Psychology. He is the director of the research group "Psychological assessment and intervention in cognition in mental disorder" (TMEIC) and his research activity focuses on the study of cognitive deficits in schizophrenia, the optimization of stimuli material for the study of implicit memory in these patients, and in the development of reduced forms of the WAIS for it's use in schizophrenia. Assistant Professor of the Department of Methodology of the the Behavioral Sciences of the Faculty of Psychology at the Universitat de València, of which I have been director between 2011 and 2018. My research interests have focused both on methodological aspects such as basic and applied. In the methodological, highlight the participation in the development of normative databases of fragments and stems of Spanish words (with their corresponding indicators) to be used in experimentation with tasks of verbal stimulus completion. It is also important to mention my participation in the development of short forms of different versions of some of the Wechsler scales to assess intellectual performance in both children (WISC) and adults (clinical and non clinical, WAIS). Basic research has focused on the experimentation on the functioning of different aspects of human memory (working memory, implicit memory, ...) in both normal and clinical populations. Applied research has been focused on schizophrenia patients with the aim of developing and applying programs to improve their cognition and social functioning. |
