F. Ballester started his research activities in 1980 on Environmental Radiactivity just after finishing his undergraduated studies. Later on he moved to the field of Experimental Nuclear Physics, receiving his PhD in 1986. In 1989 he started to work on the field of Medical Physics that is his current field of research. In 1984 he started teaching at the University of Valencia as Profesor Ayudante, in 1989 he become Profesor Titular and in 2010 Catedrático.
