Anabella Poggio's stay

Anabella Poggio made a stay as a visiting researcher in the Department of Language and Literature Teaching of the Faculty of Teacher Training over the months of September and October of 2018.

Over her stay, the professor hosted an exhibition in the framework of the Research Group in the Teaching of Languages (GIEL) on 25 October 2018, “Enseñar Lengua con Literatura” (Teaching language with literature), in which self-developed didactic sequences created within the framework of the Cognitive Prototypical Approach for teaching the nominal and the first results of their implementation in real schools were introduced. This exhibition’s main objective was to make known the contributions that can be done to teaching integrated in language and discourse from the perspective of the prototypical cognitive approach.

She also had the opportunity to give a lecture as part of the Teaching Innovation and Research course (by Dr. María José García Folgado) named “Los caminos de la investigación en docencia” (The paths of research in teaching), in which she explained how the teacher-researcher profile that the University of Valencia points in its Master’s degrees (Primary School and Secondary School) can be shaped.

Her stay at the University of Valencia granted her the possibility to attend several Master’s degree courses (Primary School and Secondary School) and thus, deepen in the teacher-researcher profile that the Master’s degrees in teacher training of this university pursue.

She also had the opportunity to attend the Conference organised by the University of Salamanca, “Enseñar gramática en secundaria. Hacia un cambio en el modelo didáctico” (Teaching grammar at Secondary School. Towards a change in the didactic model), in which Dr. Ignacio Bosque and Dr. Anna Camps participated as lecturers.

A round table was also coordinated by Julio Borrego, in which Carmen Rodríguez Gonzalo, Edita Gutiérrez, Miguel Ángel Aijón and Trinidad Sánchez adopted a stance in grammar teaching.
