Classics on the air: classical theater on Spanish radio

The first radio stations included theater in their programming, also classical, since they began their journey in the 1920s, thus anticipating other European initiatives. Aristophanes, Euripides, Seneca, Sophocles were on the airwaves until the end of the 60s and magnificent – but difficult – characters had to be adapted to the new medium to dazzle the invisible public without being seen on stage. Carmen González and Ricardo Jimeno direct this audiovisual sponsored by the Sociedad Española de Estudios Clásicos and the BBVA Foundation, with the collaboration of Carmen Morenilla, Germán Labrador, Eduardo Vasco, Mar Marcos, Ángeles Afuera and Ángel Montesinos.
