The main objective of the current project is to study the changes in climate trends taking place in the Comunidad Valenciana as a consequence of anthropogenic changes introduced in the climate system. This study intends to expect and foresee possible problems paying special attention to adverse events (heat and cold waves, pouring rains, droughts, damage to agriculture) with a potential impact on population.

Description

The analysis is carried out from a multidisciplinary perspective, using data not only from surface weather stations, but also from the different available satellite constellations of agencies such as ESA, NASA, NOAA or EUMETSAT, and from the Copernicus European system.
With this objective a multidisciplinary research team of expert researchers in Physics of the Earth and remote sensing from the Faculty of Physics of the Universitat de València (UV) are considered. In addition, expert researchers in meteorology-climatology and modelling from the Faculty of Geography and History of the UV are also needed.
