The UV Statistics Unit works with experts in the use of computer equipment and specific software. The main software used for data analysis is the free R Software.

The Statistics Unit of the University of Valencia aims to offer the scientific community support and advice on the most appropriate statistical techniques for their research projects.

Due to the advances in data collection techniques, the volume of quantified data is larger, producing more complex results: measurement of a large number of variables, but in some areas the number of samples is scarce due to technical limitations, costs and/or time. In many cases, these data do not receive the appropriate statistical treatment, resulting in lower research performance (poor optimisation and problem approach) and not all the information contained in the data is extracted.

Statistics Unit allows a better performance of the different working groups: more efficient experimental designs are carried out, taking into account Bioethics when the experiment is related to animals and the analysis of results is the most accurate, extracting the greatest amount of information.
