Chair’s management

José Manuel Pastor Monsálvez, Director of the Chair for a Sustainable Economic Model of Valencia and its Surroundings.

Doctor and Graduate (extraordinary prize) in Economic and Business Sciences by the Universitat de València, Full University Professor for the Department of Economic Analysis and researcher for the Valencian Institute of Economic Research.
His fields of expertise are educational, regional and banking economics. He was a visiting researcher at the Florida State University (USA) and the Bangor University’s College of Business, Law, Education and Social Sciences (United Kingdom), as well as an external consultant of the World Bank. He published more than 40 books in collaboration with other writers and 75 articles in specialised scientific magazines.   Main researcher of various competitive projects and projects involving companies and public administrations, those of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Plan for Research, coordinator of a consolidated Educational Innovation Group and director of various educational innovation projects. He holds a total of 24 research years and six transfer years, recognised by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

He was vice-dean of Internships and Relations with Business and Economics and vice-dean of Communication and Business Relations at the Faculty of Economics of the same university (2011-2015). He’s a member of the Languages Centre’s Management Board of the Universitat de València, employer of the UV’s Chair for Business Culture, the General Foundation of Universitat de València and director of the UV’s MESVAL Chair.
