The Valentag group, coordinated by Cinta Gallent Torres, is the winner of the MOTIVEM 2026 Awards from the Universitat de València.
Creativity, innovation and social commitment have been the protagonists of the MOTIVEM 2026 Awards, in which the Universitat de València has recognised five projects developed by multidisciplinary teams of students with innovative proposals in areas such as sustainability, health, waste management and cultural outreach.
The awards ceremony, held at the Botanical Garden, brought together institutional representatives, academic staff, students and collaborating organisations. The programme, coordinated by the Vice-Rectorate for Student Affairs, Educational Transformation and Lifelong Learning and managed by the ADEIT Foundation, promotes university entrepreneurship through collaborative work between students and academic staff.
The award-winning projects were Thermo-Shield Asphalt (Architecture and Engineering), a coating to reduce the temperature of asphalt and improve air quality; and BioMam (Sciences), a wearable device to facilitate the early detection of breast cancer; Onco-PlayFit (Health Sciences), a gamification proposal to encourage physical exercise in paediatric oncology; NONOMAS (Social and Legal Sciences), a network of smart bins for dog waste with financial incentives; and Valentag (Arts and Humanities), coordinated by Cinta Gallent Torres, with the collaboration of Anabel Martínez, of the TeLL-ME group, an application that turns the city of Valencia into an interactive experience through NFC technology.
During the ceremony, the Rector of the Universitat de València, Juan Luis Gandia, and the Vice-Rector for Students and Director of MOTIVEM, Rosa Maria Bo, highlighted the value of the programme for developing skills such as teamwork, creativity and the ability to transform knowledge into useful solutions for society. Since its creation, MOTIVEM has involved more than 6,600 students and has driven nearly 1,900 innovative ideas.
In this edition, 15 finalist projects have been selected from the 159 proposals submitted by students from all the Universitat de València’s centres, coordinated by teaching staff trained at the MOTIVEM School.
