nÚVol is the name of the University's new personal virtual storage service. It is a system based on the free software product owncloud (owncloud.org), widely used in various fields, including universities. It does not replace the virtual office, which continues to function as a centralised repository of documents, at a personal and groupal level.

Among the most outstanding new features of nÚVol is the ability to share documents or folders with other UV users, and the possibility of synchronising the copy of documents and folders on different devices (computers, mobiles, etc.). It also has similar functionalities to those of commercial tools (Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.).

SECURITY

The virtual storage of the Universitat de València (virtual office and NuVol) uses only the University's own servers. It does not require external servers, an encrypted connection is always established with the servers, which ensures trust in the transmission, and ensures compliance with legislation on information security and data protection.

• Do students of the Universitat de València have to attach the documentation corresponding to the identity card, degree and academic certificate to their application?

  Uv students do not have to attach the identity card, degree and academic certificate . This documentation will be retrieved automatically by the Student Service. However, it will be necessary to provide, if applicable, the specific documentation required for each Master's degree applied for.

• What requirements do I have to meet in order to apply for the Erasmus A-modality Traineeship?

  Be enrolled in an official degree from the Universitat de València ( Degree or Master's) and have integrated curricular internships in its curriculum. Not having successfully completed the integrated curricular internship subjects in the official degree for which the grant is requested. That the calculation of the duration of the internship that you wish to carry out added to the Erasmus stays that you have carried out in the same cycle does not exceed 12 months (or 24 months if you are a student of the Degrees of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy). Have been assigned an integrated curricular internship confirmed by the host entity and by the centre's internship committee. • What requirements do I have to meet in order to apply for the Erasmus B-modality Traineeship?

  • Be a student of an official Universitat de València degree ( Degree or Master) at the time of application, in the degree for which you are applying.
  • To finish the studies of the official degree for which you are applying.
  • To have the company's agreement to carry out the internship.

• When do I have to apply for the Erasmus Traineeship grant?

  The call for Erasmus Traineeship in modality B remains open until mid July.

• What documentation do I have to submit with the application?

  The on-line application must be accompanied by the Internship Agreement, duly signed by the three parties (student, company and mobility coordinator of the corresponding degree, or director of the Master's Degree).

• Can I do an international internship without applying for an Erasmus Traineeship grant?

  Yes, in this case you only need to formalise the documents of the internship contract.

  The deadline for submitting applications for Erasmus A-style internships is mid-July.

  There are also three additional deadlines for submitting applications under mode A in case they become vacant in the immediately preceding submission periods:

  • Second deadline in October.
  • Third deadline in January.
  • Fourth deadline in April.

• I'd like to do an internship in Europe. What's the procedure?

  The procedure for applying for international internships is the same as for national internships. This procedure is established by each centre's Traineeship Committee. Check with your centre on the conditions for an external placement.

• I already have an entity to do the internship. What do I have to do now?

  If I already have the acceptance of the host entity, you will have to submit your proposal following the instructions of your centre, in order to get the approval of the curricular internship proposal.

• Can I have an Erasmus scholarship for studies and an Erasmus scholarship for internships in the same academic year?

  Yes, you can be an Erasmus student and an Erasmus intern during the same academic year, as long as it is in different periods. For example, Erasmus Studies during the first semester and Erasmus Traineeship during the second semester.

• What documentation do I have to submit with the application?

  The online application must be accompanied by:

  • Document certifying that the internship has been assigned by the Internship Commission of the respective centre.
  • It is also necessary to include Annex II of the call, Internship Agreement, duly signed by the three parties (student, company and mobility coordinator of the corresponding degree, or director of the Master).

• I already have the approval of my signed internship proposal. Can I ask for some economic aid to carry out these internships?

  The Office of the Vice President for Internationalization and Multilingualism of the Universitat de València annually publishes a call for Erasmus Internship scholarships for all students of the Universitat de València who have been assigned a curricular internship in an entity located in another Erasmus + country (modality A) or either they have just finished their bachelor's or master's degree (mode B).

• What are the language requirements?

  The host institution will be in charge of evaluating the linguistic competence of the student candidate for the internship. You do not have to prove your language skills at the time of application.

• If I do not have the nationality of the country where I am studying, can I participate in the programme?

  Yes, as long as you have a nationality or a valid residence permit in one of the countries participating in the Erasmus+ programme or in a third country; in this case you must prove that you are in possession of a valid permit to reside in Spain during the mobility period.

• Can I change the internship period?

  Yes, in a motivated manner, as long as it is in the same host entity and with the approval of the entity and the internship coordinator.

• How much is the Erasmus Traineeship scholarship?

  The amount of the scholarship depends on the country where the internship takes place, according to the following groups:
  
  Group 1. Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom: EUR 400/month.
  
  Group 2. Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia and Turkey. EUR 350/month.
  
  Group 3. Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia: EUR 300/month

• Do I have to seek out the host entity or does the UV seek it out for me?

  The search for the host entity is part of the content of the traineeship and must be the responsibility of the student. Even so, the Universitat de València helps you to look for international internships in the following ways:

  • The centre's Traineeship Commission compiles the offer of traineeships which will also include entities located in the international field. This list is composed of the entities provided by ADEIT and the contacts that the Traineeship Coordinator or another member of the centre may have.

• What is the minimum and maximum duration for receiving the Erasmus Traineeship scholarship?

  • Minimum duration: 2 months
    Maximum duration financed: 4 months (the duration of the internship may be longer than 4 months, but the extra months will not be financed by the Erasmus+ programme).

  Start and end dates must be within the same academic year: from 1 September to 30 September.

• Can I modify the internship period?

  Yes, in a motivated manner, as long as it is in the same host entity, and at least 10 days before the scheduled end date of the internship. You must have the approval of the entity and the internship coordinator. You will have to send the addendum document for modifications to the internship contract to the email practiques@uv.es, which you can find here: http://ir.uv.es/9tqhk5o.

• I do not have the nationality of the country where I am studying, can I participate in the programme?

  Yes, provided that you have a nationality or a valid residence permit in one of the countries participating in the Erasmus+ programme or in a third country; in this case you must prove that you are in possession of a valid permit to reside in Spain for the duration of the mobility. If you are from a non-European country, you must consult the consulate or embassy of the destination country if you need to apply for any kind of permit or visa.

• What is the Training Agreement?

  It is the equivalent document to the "Learning Agreement" for studies. It is a personalised document that includes: the work or work programme to be carried out, the results at the level of knowledge, skills and abilities to be acquired, the tutoring activities, the recognition to be obtained after the internship. In addition, in the case of the A modality, remember that you must sign the curricular internship agreement provided by University-Business Foundation ADEIT, following the usual procedure of your degree. • What are the language requirements?

  The host institution will be responsible for evaluating the linguistic competence of the student candidate for the internship. No proof of linguistic knowledge is required at the time of application. At the beginning of your grant you will receive a test to evaluate your knowledge (OLS) that is compulsory, then you will be offered an online language course which is voluntary to do, and at the end of your mobility you will receive another test to evaluate what you have learned. Only the initial and final tests are compulsory during your mobility. This evaluation of your language level is not an official accreditation that you can use afterwards.

• When will I get my scholarship?

  The first term of your scholarship (70%) once you arrive at your destination and submit the documentation of incorporation by Entreu. The second term of your scholarship (30%) upon arrival and submission of the documentation of completion by Entreu. The deposit will be made by bank transfer. • I want to upload documents through Entreu, but I don't know how, how do I do it?

  First make sure you are in the right procedure Erasmus Work Experience 2019-2020, as there are several mobility programmes and it is easy to get confused when choosing them. • Because of the coronavirus crisis I had to come home, what do I do now?

  If the host company has offered you to continue with an online internship, you should follow them as if you were there. If this is the case, you should not present your certificate of stay from Entreu until you have finished your internship, as the period shown on your certificate will be paid. If you are not offered this alternative you must contact your mobility and/or internship coordinator to see if they can find you an alternative. If you do not have your certificate of stay, please insist that the company sends it to you by e-mail. • I have been assigned a Sicue mobility place in the provisional list, what do I have to do now?

  You should know that until the final publication this assignment is not firm and can change. The provisional lists are published in order to detect and solve any errors that may have occurred.
  Once you have checked that you have been granted a place on the final list, you must visit the website of the host university to find out what documents you must submit and its deadlines. Then contact the academic coordinator of your degree to prepare the study contract (academic agreement in SICUE terminology).

   

• Necessite una assegurança per a renovar el meu permís d'estudis?

  Per a renovar el teu permís d'estudis has de tindre una Assegurança mèdica de salut. Tingues en compte que una assegurança mèdica de salut no és el mateix que una assegurança de “assistència en viatge”. Aquestes assegurances d'assistència en viatge no són vàlids per a renovar el teu permís d'estudis. Pots contractar l'assegurança amb la companyia que preferisques, però assegura't que la pòlissa no tinga límits, ni copagaments ni manques. La UV treballa actualment amb OnCampus, i la seua assegurança mèdica de salut "OnCampus Health Care" sí que és vàlid per a sol·licitar el teu tenovación; però l'assegurança que contractes no ha de ser necessàriament aquesta.

• I still don't have health insurance. What can I do?

  If you do not have international health insurance until shortly before coming to Valencia, you should send a scanned copy to incoming@uv.es as soon as you have it.  This insurance must cover at least:
  -Medical and sanitary assistance in case of accident or illness 
  -Repatriation or sanitary transport of injured or sick people 
  -Repatriation or transport in case of death 
  -Displacement of family member in case of illness or death 
  -Civil liability 
  You must prove that you have taken out the insurance by contributing: If you have made an "extension" to a pre-existing policy, ask for a certificate specifying the coverage.   No, certificates are not requested. However, it is advisable for students to have at least a basic level of Spanish before coming to our university, since our classes are taught mainly in Spanish.   Erasmus and International students must take most of their courses, at least 50%, within the agreed areas of study specified in the bilateral agreement. Students can enrol on courses from other fields of study, as long as the number of vacancies or any other restrictions allow it. • Quan puc fer Erasmus Pràctiques?

  Les dates d'inici i finalització han d'estar compreses dins el mateix curs acadèmic: des de l'1 de setembre de 2019 fins al 30 de setembre de 2020. A més la data d'inici sempre ha de ser quan han transcorregut 15 dies des del tancament de l'termini en què les demanes. Això vol dir que si per exemple el termini finalitza el 29 de gener, fins a mínim el dia 14 de febrer no podries començar i per tant la data d'inici de l'contracte ha de ser aquesta i no abans. • Quant de temps puc estar d'Erasmus Pràctiques?

  La durada mínima és de 2 mesos i el màxim de beca finançada és de 4 mesos. La beca d'Erasmus Pràctiques pot durar fins a 12 mesos, però aquests no es financen, encara que sí es consideren part de la beca. El periode de pràctiques serà el que es reculli en el contracte de pràctiques signat. Per als estudiants de medicina, odontologia i farmàcia el límit és fins a 24 mesos. Si ja has gaudit d'una beca Erasmus Estudis o Pràctiques dins el mateix cicle (grau o màster) es descomptarà el període de la teua estada anterior a el límit dels 12 mesos o 24 i podràs anar-te'n el que resti.   Els / les estudiants que tinguin concedida la seua beca de el Ministeri en el curs anterior a la convocatòria d'Erasmus Pràctiques reben un ajut complementari. També els que tinguin la condició de refugiats o amb dret a protecció subsidiària o que hagin presentat sol·licitud de protecció internacional a Espanya. L'ajuda addicional és de 100 euros a l'mes. • Com em paguen de la beca Erasmus Pràctiques?

  La quantia de la beca Erasmus Pràctiques depèn de el país on es realitza la pràctica, i els països estan classificats en tres grups segons el seu nivell de vida. • Quin requisit lingüístic hi ha per a anar a una universitat estrangera en el programa internacional de mobilitat?

  Cada universitat estrangera del programa internacional de mobilitat marca un nivell de requisit lingüístic. En el cas d´universitats de Latinoamèrica no és necessari acreditar requisit lingüístic. Normalment, demanen un nivell d´anglés TOEFL o IELTS. En el portal de serveis d'estudiants es pot consultar el nivell per a cada universitat. La Universitat de València té aprovada una taula d'equivalència de certificats d'idiomes.   És un document que has de fer abans de començar l´estada en una universitat estrangera. Normalment, es fa entre maig i juliol.   L'estudiant ha de signar un contracte d'estudis amb el coordinador de la seua titulació, indicant les assignatures que vol fer a la universitat de destinació i les equivalents que li seran reconegudes a la Universitat de València. • Quina és la quantia de la beca del Programa Internacional?

  La beca del Programa Internacional depén del país al que vages i del període de mobilitat que faces (semestral o anual). Les beques oscilen entre els 2.500 als 6.500 euros en total. També hi han altres beques que pots obtindre, com les beques grado iberoamèrica del Banco Santander per a fer estades semestrals a universitats latinoamericanes. • Ja he fet una estada del programa internacional, puc tornar a anar-me'n de programa internacional?

  Només pots participar una vegada al programa internacional de mobilitat. La única excepció és per als estudiants que fan una doble titulació internacional amb una universitat estrangera no europea. • Com es donen les places del programa internacional de mobilitat?

  Al portal servei d'estudiants pots veure les universitats estrangeres ofertades en cada titulació. Els criteris de selecció venen definits a la convocatòria que es publica cada any al mes de novembre. El criteri més important és la nota mitjana. • Què requisits he de tindre per a participar al programa internacional?

  Pots anar d'Erasmus a partir del tercer curs de grau. Demanaràs la plaça en segon per a anar en tercer. O en tercer per a anar en quart. També has d´acreditar coneixement del idioma del país on vols estudiar (en el portal de Servei d´estudiants pots consultar el nivell d´idioma exigit per a cada destinació). • What is the difference between an accredited foreign title and a legalised or apostilled foreign title?

  Legalisation or apostille is a necessary procedure for academic titles and certificates issued by a country outside the European Union or not signatory to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the bilateral agreement with the European Union. The procedure for legalisation or apostille must be carried out by the student in the country that issued the official university degree.

  On the other hand, the homologation of a university degree issued by a country outside the European Higher Education Area is the resolution issued by the Spanish ministry with responsibility for education. This resolution declares that the foreign degree is equivalent to a level of study in Spain or to an official university degree in Spain.

  In order to pre-registrate in a doctoral programme at the Universitat de València and be admitted, degrees issued by a country outside the European Union or a country that has not signed the agreement on the European Economic Area or the bilateral agreement with the European Union must be legalised or apostilled. As for the homologation issued by the Spanish ministry with competence in education that is required for degrees that are not part of the European Higher Education Area, it is not necessary if instead, at the time of pre-enrolment, the fees corresponding to the degree equivalence study are paid.

• M'han adjudicat una estada en la Universitat de València. Què he de fer?

  Pots contactar amb el coordinador o centre de la UV per a informar-te de l'oferta acadèmica disponible. En el moment que convingues, has de consensuar i signar el teu contracte acadèmic amb el coordinador de la teva Universitat d'origen. Pots enviar el contracte d'estudis una vegada signat o portar-lo a la teva arribada.

• Quines ajudes bàsiques o complementàries hi ha i com les puc demanar?

  En el curs 2018-2019, els estudiants i estudiantes reben una ajuda de la Unió Europea per un màxim de 7 mesos. Els estudiants amb mobilitat de curs complet també reben una ajuda de la Universitat de València en un pagament únic..

  Eventualment, es convoquen altres beques per part de la Generalitat Valenciana, alguns ajuntaments menuts, beca Santander Erasmus, etc. Estigues atent a la nostra pàgina web per a assabentar-te del procediment en cada cas.

• Hi ha cap ajuda ecònomica?

  No hi ha cap ajuda de la que tinguem coneixement. Fa anys hi havia una beca coneguda com Seneca però fa diversos anys que no es convoca. No renuncies a fer la teua propia busca en la xarxa o les institucions de la teua ciutat o comunitat autònoma.

  Actualment, no es pot sol·licitar una estada com a "freemover" o de lliure mobilitat.

• Quins documents necessite?

  Independentment dels que puga exigir-te la teua Universitat, les diferents certificacions, sol·licituds, etc. seran expedides pel responsable de la teua pràctica.

• Quins requisits he de complir?

  Els requisits que pot demanar-te el responsable del departament o centre on desitges realitzar les pràctiques te'ls indicaran en el mateix departament.

• Amb qui he de contactar per a realitzar les meues pràctiques dins del Programa Erasmus Placement?

  El Servei de Relacions Internacionals té descentralitzada aquesta gestió en els responsables dels diferents departaments de la Universitat de València.

• Sóc un estudiant estranger, tinc dret a una estada Erasmus estudis?

  Sí, a més dels estudiants i estudiantes espanyols, podran ser beneficiaris de la beca Erasmus els ciutadans i ciutadanes d'un estat membre de la Unió Europea i aquells que estiguen en possessió d'un permís de residència vàlid per a residir a Espanya durant el període de realització de la mobilitat. Si no eres de la Unió Europea necessitaràs un visat. Consulta amb l'ambaixada del país de destinació i amb l'ambaixada del teu país.

• Quan he d'acreditar el requisit lingüístic?

  El requisit lingüístic s’ha d’acreditar abans del final del termini de sol·licituds (30 de novembre). No obstant això, en el cas que l'idioma que s'acredite siga l'anglés (a través dels títols IELTS o TOEFL), es permetrà la seua presentació fins el 30 de desembre. En aquest supòsit, els estudiants que en el moment de presentar la sol·licitud no tinguen encara el certificat TOEFL o IELTS hauran d'adjuntar telemàticament a la sol·licitud el justificant d'inscripció a les proves que indique que l'estudiant s'examina dins del període de presentació de sol·licituds (fins el 30 de novembre). A més, abans del 30 de desembre hauran de presentar el justificant amb la nota de l'examen.

• Qui és el meu coordinador de mobilitat?

  Hi ha un coordinador acadèmic de mobilitat per a cada titulació. Pots consultar el coordinador de la teua titulació a la llista de coordinadors.

• Quants crèdits he de tindre aprovats per poder fer la sol·licitud?

  Has de tindre aprovats 42 crèdits del Grau pel qual sol·licites la beca, a la finalització del curs anterior a la convocatòria.

• Quins documents cal enviar a la universitat de destinació?

  En el moment que sigues seleccionat (beques generals), l'Oficina de Relacions Internacionals contactarà amb tu per a indicar-te els documents que cal enviar a la universitat estrangera (application form, còpia del passaport, certificat de solvència econòmica, còpia de l'expedient acadèmic, cartes de recomanació, etc.).
  En el cas de la beques gestionades per una facultat, seran els responsables dels programes a la Facultat les persones que s'encarregaran d'indicar-te els documents.

• Si ja he sigut Erasmus, puc demanar els PI?

  Sí, es pot gaudir dels dos programes sempre que no siga durant el mateix curs acadèmic.

• Quan i com he de sol·licitar els Programes Internacionals?

  La sol·licitud per al curs 2021/2022 es farà telemàticament a través del Portal Serveis Estudiant del 14 al 30 de novembre de 2020.

• Quin és l'import de l'ajuda econòmica de la Universitat de València?

  L'import de l'ajuda depén del país de destinació i la durada de l'estada, d'acord amb aquest quadre:

• Com puc obtenir informació sobre la universitat de destinació?

  Hauràs de consultar la seua pàgina web. Hi pots accedir des dels links de la llista d'universitats existent en la secció destinacions.

• Com justifique el requisit lingüístic?

  La informació relativa al nivell lingüístic exigit en cada universitat es pot consultar al Portal Serveis Estudiants dins l'opció "Programes d'intercanvi amb altres universitats".

  Amb caràcter general, cada destinació té marcat un únic idioma i un nivell de competència lingüística que l'estudiant ha d'acreditar. No obstant això, en les destinacions on apareixen dos o més idiomes, l'acreditació del nivell en qualsevol d'ells serà vàlida per a complir amb el requisit lingüístic d'aquesta convocatòria.

• Com puc saber les places que s'oferten?

  Visita el Portal Servei Estudiants => Programes d'Intercanvi => Consulta programes d'Intercanvi per  saber les universitats amb les quals existiex conveni d'intercanvi.

  No totes les universitats ofereixen estudis en totes les titulacions. Per tant, és molt important que consultes la web de les universitats que t'interessen per assegurar-te que s'ofereix la teua titulació. En Destinacions trobaràs el link a totes les universitats.

• Puc fer la mateixa prova que els Erasmus per a acreditar el requisit lingüístic?

  No. Els estudiants que demanen la beca Erasmus s’examinaran d’una prova específica per al procés de selecció Erasmus, així que eixa prova no et serveix per acreditar el requisit lingüístic per als Programes Internacionals.

• Com es fa el reconeixement dels estudis cursats a la universitat estrangera?

  L'estudiant/a ha de signar un contracte d'estudis amb el coordinador/a de la seua titulació, indicant les assignatures que vol fer a la universitat de destinació i les equivalents que seran reconegudes a la Universitat de València. Al finalitzar l'estada, la universitat de destinació enviarà les notes i es farà el reconeixement de crèdits tenint en compte eixe contracte d'estudis.

• Com es fa la selecció?

  Les sol·licituds són prioritzades d'acord amb la diferència entre la nota mitjana de l'expedient acadèmic de l'estudiant i la nota mitjana de la seua titulació en finalitzar el curs 2015-2016.

• Necessite un visat? De quin tipus? Com puc obtindre'l?

  Els estudiants que viatgen fora de la Unió Europea necessiten obtenir un visat d'estudis. L'estudiant haurà de consultar els requisits per a obtindre el visat en l'Ambaixada del país de destinació. Abans de gestionar el visat serà imprescindible rebre la carta d'acceptació de la universitat de destinació.En el cas de Quebec (Canadà), abans de processar l'obtenció del visat, l'estudiant necessitarà el CAQ (Certificat de acceptació de Québec).

• Què he de fer per a incorporar-me a la Universitat de València?

• Sóc Sicue. Què és això?

  SICUE és l'acrònim de Sistema de Intercanvi entre Centres Universitaris Espanyols. És un programa de mobilitat estudiantil entre universitats espanyoles convocat i regulat per la Conferència de Rectors d'Universitats Espanyoles (CRUE).

• If I am a foreigner and I have registered with my passport number because I do not have an ID card, what will be my ID number on file?

  The system will automatically generate a number to match the Spanish identification system which will be a M95XXXXXX. As soon as you have a valid ID card number, you can request that the identification number be changed in your file by sending an email to the Doctoral School from your institutional email address user@alumni.uv.es, attaching a copy of your ID number.

• If I completed my previous studies abroad, what are the necessary requirements to pursue a doctoral degree in Spain?

  The requirements for the applicants who have completed their previous studies abroad, depend on the country where the degree was obtained.

  Depending on the case, the following documents will be required:

  • Translations of documentation.
  • The list of marks converted according to a scale from 1 to 10.
  • Legalisation or apostille of the degree and of the official academic certificate.
  • Official accreditation («homologación») of foreign higher education qualifications or, in the absence of it, the payment of a fee corresponding to the equivalent study degree.

• How long does a PhD take?

  The doctoral studies end with the preparation and defence of a doctoral thesis. Therefore, the doctoral student has a period of 3 years full time and 5 years part time, from the first registration, to present the doctoral thesis.

  Cancellations due to illness, pregnancy or any other cause foreseen in the current regulations do not affect the calculation of the maximum period for presenting the doctoral thesis. The doctoral student must justify this circumstance to the Doctoral School.

• Do I have to have a tutor in order to pre-enrol and be admitted to a doctoral programme?

  It is advisable to have a director at the time of pre-enrolment, but it is not essential. If you do not have a director, you can pre-enrol, be admitted and enrol for the programme. The academic committee of the doctoral programme will then assign you a tutor and director during the admission process or within a maximum of 3 months from the first registration.

• Which are the doctoral programmes that I can take at the Universitat de València?

  The Universitat de València has a wide range of doctoral programmes. In total, 17 programmes in the area of Basic Sciences and Engineering, 14 programmes in the area of Health Sciences, 19 programmes in the area of Social Sciences and 12 programmes in the area of Humanities.

• I am a student from a non-EHEA country. Can I pay the fee for the equivalence study when I know if I have been admitted?

  No, because in the case of an official degree issued in a foreign educational system that does not belong to the EHEA, access will be conditioned by verification that the studies taken correspond to a level of training equivalent to that of official Spanish university degrees and that they qualify for access to official master's degree studies in the country that issued the degree. If the fee is not paid at the time of application, the decision required for admission cannot be issued.

• I am a student at another Spanish university. How can I find out if a master's degree is taught in Valencian?

  Each master's degree has a General Information Sheet and the summary section contains information on "Languages used throughout the training process". If it indicates Spanish and Valencian, you should go to the Study Plan and see each subject in which language it is taught.

   

• How many credits do I have to enrol in?

  According to the UV registration regulations for Degree's and Master's degrees, the registration will be done in the following terms:

  Full-time students: you must register for a minimum of 36 credits and a maximum of 72

  Part-time students: you must register for a minimum of 24 credits and a maximum of 36.

• I'm working, and I can't attend all the classes, am I entitled to a reduction?

  Students can apply for partial registration at the centre responsible for the degree, duly justifying the alleged work activity. In this case you can register for at least 24 credits.
  

• I'm working, and I'd like to know the schedule for the Master's so I can study it. Where can I find it?

  Each Master's has a specific website where the timetables for the current course are published. You can consult them and contact the person academically responsible for the Master's so that he or she can confirm whether the timetable is being maintained.

• I am interested in a 90-credit Master's degree. Can I register for all of them and finish it in one year?

  No, because the Universitat de València's Enrolment Regulations for Degree’s and Master's degrees set a maximum of 72 credits.

• I have a recognised disability in my country, am I entitled to any exemption?

  Any foreign person with legal residence in Spain and with a disability may request recognition of this condition from the competent authority, in accordance with the provisions of the agreements signed with their respective States and, failing this, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity. If the Spanish authority has issued the corresponding accreditation, they may opt for the applicable discounts indicated in the Enrolment section, always providing the corresponding documentary justification.
  

• If we are a large family in my country, can I benefit from a reduction?

  No, unless you obtain the recognition of the Large Family Title granted by a Spanish Public Administration. The only applicable reductions are those indicated in the Enrolment section, as long as they are accompanied by the corresponding documentary justification.

• If I have won an extraordinary prize at another university, do I have any benefit?

  No. The Extraordinary Award does not generate fee exemptions, even outside the UV. The only applicable bonuses are those indicated in the section on Enrolment, as long as they are accompanied by the corresponding documentary justification.

• If I am admitted to a Master's, but I cannot register, can I save my place for next year?

  No, students who do not register within the established period will lose the right to reserve their initial place, which will be offered in the waiting list appeals.

• I finished my studies many years ago, can I access a Master's degree with the degree I obtained?

  Degrees do not expire. Unless a Master's degree, in its specific requirements, restricts access to certain degrees, it can be accessed under the same conditions as new university graduates.

• I am taking a Spanish course, but I don't have any certificate of achievement yet. Can I get credit for it after pre-registration?

  Languages are admission requirements so they must be accredited within the period of application, unless those taught at the Faculty of Teacher Training. Please check the calendar.

  Only those certificates that are listed in the Equivalence Table.

• What does a doctoral thesis consist of?

  The doctoral programme includes a research component and a doctoral training component. As for the research part, it focuses on the completion of the doctoral thesis, which consists of an original research paper prepared by the doctoral student. This paper must be framed within one of the pre-established lines of research. The thesis requires a tutor and a director. It also may be co-directed by a maximum of three co-directors.

  On the other hand, the doctoral programme also includes a training part for doctoral students. The training activities will be reflected in the Activities Document (DA). This is an individualised record of the different activities (conferences, publications, specific training activities of the doctoral programme...) carried out by the doctoral students, which will be regularly reviewed by the tutor and the thesis supervisor and evaluated by the Academic Committee of the Doctorate.

• Can I request an extension of the time limit for the doctoral programme?

  If after the estimated time limit to present the doctoral thesis (3 years full-time and 5 years part-time), this has not been presented, the academic committee of the doctoral programme may authorise a one-year extension that, exceptionally, may be extended for one more year. In the case of part-time studies, a two-years extension may be authorised. This may exceptionally be extended for one more year.

• In which languages can I write and defend my doctoral thesis?

  The thesis can be written and, if applicable, defended in the languages usual for scientific communication in the field of study. In any case, the doctoral student must include a comprehensive summary of the thesis in one of the languages that are official in the Universitat de València, stating the objectives, methodology, and conclusions of the thesis in a maximum of 8000 words.

• Should I have any previous professional experience to be admitted to the Doctoral programme?

  No, it is not a mandatory requirement. In line with a specific doctoral programme, professional experience may only a criteria to prioritise applications in respect to one another if there are many admission applications.

• What does the admission process to a doctorate programme involve?

  Each doctorate programme has an Academic Coordinating Committee that runs the programme. As part of the admission process, after the end of the set deadline for the presentation of pre-enrolment applications, these committees meet and assess the candidate’s applications. As a result, the Student Services and the Doctorate School publish on their web pages the list of the admitted, on the waiting list and excluded students.The admission results, both provisional and final, are also notified to each applicant through the electronic office. .

• Which requirements must a student meet in order to apply for admission to the Doctorate?

  For all purposes, in order to be admitted to a Doctorate Programme in its training period, it will be necessary to hold the official Spanish Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) and University Master's Degree. Similarly, those who are in any of the following situations can also access:
  
  1. For all purposes, in order to be admitted to an official Doctorate Programme, it will be necessary to hold the official Spanish Undergraduate Degree, or equivalent, and University Master's Degree.

  a) To hold an official Spanish University Degree, or from other country member of the European Higher Education Area, which enables the access to a Master in accordance with the provisions of the article 16 in the Royal Decree 1393/2007, from 29 October, and have gained at least 300 credits ECTS in the official university studies, 60 of which may be Masters-level.
  b) To hold an official Spanish Undergraduate Degree, the duration of which, according to the rules of Community law, must be at least of 300 credits ECTS. The mentioned graduates need to obligatory pursue the supplementary training mentioned in the article 7.2 of this regulation, unless the curriculum of the corresponding undergraduate degree includes research training credits, equivalent in training value to research credits from Master's studies.
  c) University graduates who, after being admitted to the corresponding access test to specialised health training, have passed with a positive evaluation at least two years of training in a programme for obtaining an official degree of any of the specialities in Health Science.
  d) To hold a degree according to foreign education systems, without needing to be homologated, after verification by the university that it is equivalent to the official Spanish University Master's Degree and that ir entitles the holder to access Doctorate studies in the country that issued the degree. This admission will not imply, under any circumstances, the homologation of the previous degree that the interested party holds nor its recognition for other effects different to the access to Doctorate studies.
  e) To hold other Spanish Doctor's degree obtained according to previous university regulations.

• Do I have to translate my supporting documents into Spanish?

  Supporting documents in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian or Portuguese are accepted. A translation will be required for the documents issued in any other language. 

• When can I request an admission letter?

  Starting from on the day following the date when the pre-enrolment results are published, you will be able to download your admission letter through “My personal site” in the Online Office (ENTREU). This electronic document includes a digital signature and a secure verification code (CSV) through which its validity can be verified by any official body.

• Which degree should I have to be admitted to the Doctoral programme?

  Any of the following degrees:

  A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree

  A licentiate degree

  A Master of Advanced Studies obtained in line with the Spanish Royal Decree 778/1998 as of 30 April or sufficient research work regulated in the Spanish Royal Decree 185/1985 as if 23 January.

• Should I have completed the corresponding studies and obtained a certain degree to access and pre-enrol in the doctoral programme?

  The students who finish their prior studies to access a PhD programme this academic year, can pre-enrol even if they have not completed these studies at the moment of application.

  They can be admitted and enrol in the programme. However, this enrolment procedure will be subject to checking whether all the admission requirement were met before 30 November. Failure to fulfil these conditions shall result in the cancelation of the official enrolment.

• Where can I find the specific requirements to access a doctoral programme?

  Each doctoral programme can set specific requirements for the admission. The specific requirements for the admission can be found in the description of the Doctoral programme online on the websites of the Student Service and of the Doctoral School in the corresponding section of Doctoral programmes offering.

• In what cases must supporting documents be legalised or apostilled?

  In case a university degree is issued by the university outside the European Union or any signatory countries to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or to the bilateral agreement with the European Union, you should add to the electronic application legalized or apostilled and translated, if necessary, supporting documents. To process the electronic application, the university requires the documents to be added in an electronic format to the pre-enrolment application. In line with the Spanish Law 39/2015, no other certified copies should be presented.

  In rare cases, when the authenticity of the presented electronic documents is doubtful, an applicant will be requested a verification of the submitted copies, so the original documents may be required. The documents will be verified by the Doctoral School of the Universitat de València, not by the registry offices.

• Under which circumstances can I temporarily withdraw from the Doctoral programme?

  A PhD student can ask to temporarily withdraw from the studies for a maximum period of a year, which can be later extended for another year. Just like extensions, the voluntary temporary withdrawal should be approved by the academic commission of the doctoral programme.

  In case of a disease, pregnancy, or any other cause stipulated in the current regulations, a PhD student is entitled to temporarily withdraw from the doctoral programme, and this period will not affect the final deadlines to present the doctoral thesis. A PhD student must justify this circumstance before the Doctoral School.

• Do the traditional Doctoral programmes disappear?

  In a new regulation of the university studies established by the Spanish Royal Decree 99/2011 as of 28 January which regulates the official doctoral studies, the concept of a Doctoral Programme is still used. It is specified that “to obtain the degree of Doctor, a student shall successfully complete the doctoral study plan and a set research period. All training and research activities that result in obtaining the degree form a single Doctoral Programme.
  

• What is the mention “International Doctor”?

  The front cover of the doctoral degree may include the mention “International Doctor” under the following circumstances:

  A PhD student has been studying or carrying out research at a higher educational establishment or a renowned research centre outside Spain for at least three months. The period of stay and the activities should be approved by the Director, authorised by the Academic Commission, and included in the document of doctorate activities.

  A part of the doctoral thesis, at least an abstract and a conclusion, are written and presented in one of the languages usual for scientific communication in the chosen field of studies, which are different from the official or co-official languages of Spain. This norm shall not be applicable to the stays, reports, and experts associated with a Spanish-speaking country.

  The thesis was reviewed by at least two Doctoral experts working at any higher educational institution or a research centre outside Spain. At least one Doctoral expert pertaining to a higher educational institution or a research centre outside Spain and different from those listed in the section above mush have formed a part of the Thesis Assessment Committee. In this case, the doctoral thesis shall be defended at the university in which a PhD student is enrolled or, in case of joint doctorate programmes, at any participating universities.

  The mention of Industrial Doctor

  The mention “Industrial Doctor” shall be attributed under the following circumstances:

  1. The PhD student has an employment of commercial contract. The contract may be signed with a company in the private or public sector as well as with a public administration.
  2. The PhD student shall participate in a project dealing with industrial research or experimental development at the public administration, which may not be the University. The project of industrial research or experimental development has to be directly related to the thesis of a student. This relation must be certified in paper and approved by the University.

  If the project of with industrial research or experimental development is carried out between the University and a company or a Public Administration where a PhD student works, an agreement of collaboration between the parties should be signed. This agreement should specify the responsibilities of the University and the responsibilities of the company or Public Administration as well as the selection process of the PhD students. The student shall have a thesis tutor assigned by the University and a supervisor assigned by the company or Public Administration, which can be a thesis Director in line with the Doctorate norms and regulations.

• Can I follow a PhD programme on a part-time basis?

  Yes. As long as a PhD student motivates their request, the academic commission of the PhD programme can authorize it. If a student follows a PhD programme on a part-time basis, the period to present a thesis extends to 5 years from the time of enrolment.

• Do I have to present a paper copy of my disability certificate?

  No. It would be sufficient to add this document in an electronic form to the pre-enrolment application. The degree of disability indicated in the certificate must be equal to or greater than 33%.

• Do the UV students have to attach the documents to the pre-enrolment application?

  No. It is not necessary to submit the documentation related to degrees issued by the Universitat de València. Only students who pre-enrol with the studies of the access degree pending completion must communicate that they have paid the degree deposit, before the end of the established period of correction, by sending a ticket (ticket Incidencias preinscripción) at the Doctoral School.

• Where and when do I have to send the paper copy of my pre-enrolment documents?

  According to the Spanish Law 39/2015, there is no need to present the “certified copies” and, thus, file any document in paper form.

• What is the difference between a validated foreign degree and an apostilled or legalized foreign degree?

A student should legalise or apostille the degree or the certificate in the country where it was issued.

  Meanwhile, validation of the university degree issued outside Spain is a resolution authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Education, which declares that the foreign degree has an equivalent academic level or an official university degree in Spain.

  To pre-enrol in a PhD programme at the Universitat de València and start the admission process, a student should legalise or apostille the degree issued by the university outside the European Union or any signatory countries to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or to the bilateral agreement with the European Union. Concerning the foreign degree validation by the Spanish Ministry of Education, it is sufficient for a student to pay the fees corresponding to the equivalent degree in Spain during the pre-enrolment procedure.

• What documents do I have to attach to my online application to be admitted to a PhD programme?

  Generally, together with your online application, you must submit the following scans of documents:

  1. The university degree certificate required to be eligible for admission to the PhD degree studies.
  2. The academic transcript of records obtained at the university studies required to be eligible for admission to the master’s degree, which must include the average mark. Foreign students must calculate their average mark according to the procedure established by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
  3. A copy of DNI (Spanish citizens), NIE (Spanish residents), or passport (foreign citizens).

• Do doctorate programmes offer specialised training?

  Although research is the essential activity of the doctorate, doctoral programmes include training activities, classified into transversal activities and specific training.

  These training activities are specified in each doctorate programme and may be obligatory, optional or voluntary. Unlike undergraduate or master’s degree training, the training activities of the doctorate programmes of the Universitat de València are not counted in ECTS credits. Therefore, the doctoral student may consult each doctorate programme published on the web pages of the Universitat de València and the Doctoral School in order to find out the obligatory and optional activities recognised by each doctorate programme, their duration or equivalent load in hours and the minimum amount of hours to be completed.

• What’s the difference between pre-enrolment and enrolment?

  Pre-enrolment is a process that takes place before enrolment during which applications for a course are assessed and the places available are allocated. Therefore, the final step in the pre-enrolment process is to notify candidates if they have been admitted, conditionally admitted, included on the waiting list or excluded.

  Enrolment is the process following pre-enrolment. Students admitted in the corresponding pre-enrolment phase can enrol within the period established (refer to enrolment calendar). Also students conditionally admitted that have proved the compliance with the academic requirements within the period established.

• What happens if I have been admitted in a doctorate programme and I am enrolled, but I do not prove the completion of studies required to access the doctorate programme before 30 November?

  From 30 November on, the Doctoral School will automatically cancel the enrolment of all doctoral students who have not proved the completion of the studies required to access the doctorate programmes.

• How long are the Doctorate Studies?

  Doctorate Studies last up to a maximum of three years (on a full-time basis), counting from the student admission to the programme to the presentation of the doctoral thesis. However, they could last up to a maximum of five years on a part-time basis under authorisation of the academic committee responsible for the Doctoral Programme.

• How are international joint Doctorates regulated and organised? Is the Thesis “co-supervision” permitted?

  International joint Doctorates leading to one only joint title of Doctor may be organised by agreement. The Ministry of Education will regulate the particularities that could be applied in this scenario.

  The co-supervision or co-direction of Thesis may be established in the agreement for a joint Doctorate (affecting, in this case, to all doctoral students of the programme) or individually, in an express agreement, for one doctoral student. In the latter case, the agreement will establish if a double degree or one only joint title will be granted.

• Which are the necessary procedures at the beginning of the Doctorate?

  After the enrolment, a mentor will be automatically assigned, and three months later, a thesis director and up to a maximum of 3 codirectors “in cases of reasons of academic nature”. In the first year, the Research Plan (PI, for its Spanish: Plan de Investigación) will be set, including at least the methodology and the objectives of the research, as well as the tools and planning. Enrolments are done on a yearly basis.

• Which is the objective of the Doctoral Studies?

  The advanced training of doctoral students in procedures and research techniques. They may include courses, seminars or other activities oriented towards research training, as well as the preparation and presentation of the corresponding Doctoral Thesis, which consists in a scientific work offering original research results.

• Quins criteris es tindran en compte pel Consell Assesor del Mecenatge per a valorar si els projectes o activitats culturals, científiques o esportives no professionals poden ser considerats d'interés social?

  La Llei 20/2018, de 25 de juliol, de la Generalitat, del mecenatge cultural, científic i esportiu no professional en la Comunitat Valenciana, estableix en el seu article 12 que: correspon al Consell Assessor del Mecenatge, una vegada comprovat que la persona beneficiària compleix les obligacions formals establertes en aquesta llei, efectuar la proposta de declaració d'interés social i valorar els criteris següents:

  • Impacte i repercussió social del projecte o de l'activitat a desenvolupar.

• Com obtenir la declaració d'interès social?

  És necessari presentar una sol·licitud en alguna de les dues convocatòries anuals, bé sol·licitant la declaració d'interés social o bé comunicant les activitats o projectes culturals científics i esportius no professionals, que tinguen per se interés social, desenvolupats per determinades entitats beneficiàries del mecenatge a la Comunitat Valenciana.

• Quins requisits han de reunir els projectes per a poder finançar-se mitjançant el mecenatge i per a què els seus mecenes puguen aplicar-se els beneficis fiscals?

  La Llei 20 /2018 estableix que els projectes o activitats hauran de tindre la consideració d'interès social per a poder optar a ser finançats pels mecenes i que aquests puguen aplicar-se els corresponents desgravaments.

  També hauran de tindre aquesta consideració per a poder ser publicitats en el Portal del Mecenatge de cara a poder donar-los a conèixer a possibles mecenes.

• Qui poden ser beneficiaris i finançar els seus projectes mitjançant el mecenatge?

  La Llei 20/2018 considera beneficiaris -que poden rebre les aportacions dels mecenes per a realitzar els seus projectes i activitats- a les següents persones i entitats:

  • Les entitats sense ànim de lucre, domiciliades fiscalment en la Comunitat Valenciana, l'objecte social de la qual siga de caràcter cultural, científic, o esportiu no professional, com les fundacions, les associacions declarades d'utilitat pública, les federacions i les associacions esportives en el territori de la CV i les federacions i les associacions de les entitats sense ànim de lucre citades.
  • La Generalitat, els seus organismes públics i el seu sector públic instrumental.
  • Les entitats locals de la CV, els seus organismes públics, les fundacions i els consorcis que depenguen d'elles.
  • Les universitats públiques i privades de la CV, les seues fundacions i els col·legis majors adscrits a aquestes.
  • Els instituts i els centres d'investigació de la CV o que tinguen la seua seu en ella.
  • Els centres superiors d'ensenyaments artístics de la CV.
  • Els museus i col·leccions museogràfiques reconegudes per la Generalitat Valenciana i els arxius en la CV.
  • Les empreses culturals que tinguen el seu domicili fiscal en la CV.
  • Les persones físiques residents i amb domicili fiscal en la Comunitat Valenciana que, de forma habitual, exercisquen activitats culturals, científiques i esportives de caràcter no professional.

  Seran igualment persones o entitats beneficiàries del mecenatge, les persones o les entitats objectivament comparables a les anteriors amb seu en altres comunitats autònomes, estats membres de la Unió Europea o estats associats de l'espai econòmic europeu que desenvolupen projectes o activitats declarades d'interès social en els termes d'aquesta llei.

• Com es justifica el préstec d'ús o comodat?

  Mitjançant la certificació que té obligació d'expedir la persona o entitat beneficiària i que haurà de contenir, almenys, els següents extrems: 

  1. Nom i cognoms o denominació social i número d'identificació fiscal tant del comodant com de la persona comodatària.
  2. Menció expressa que la persona o entitat comodatària es troba inclosa entre els beneficiaris del mecenatge previstos en l'article 3 de la Llei 20/2018.
  3. Data en la qual es va produir el lliurament del bé i termini de durada del préstec d'ús o comodat.
  4. Import de la valoració del préstec d'ús o comodat.
  5. Document públic o un altre document autèntic que acredite la constitució del préstec o comodat.
  6. Destinació que la persona o entitat comodatària donarà al bé objecte del préstec d'ús.

• En què consisteix un préstec d'ús o comodat?

  Consisteixen en el lliurament gratuït d'un bé perquè la persona o entitat beneficiària (comodatària) el destine durant un període de temps a un projecte o activitat cultural, científica o esportiva declarada o considerada d'interès social, i una vegada transcorregut aqueix període, el retorne al donant.

  La Llei 20/2018 restringeix els préstecs d'ús o comodat als realitzats sobre:

  • béns d'interès cultural
  • béns inventariats no declarats d'interès cultural
  • béns no inventariats del patrimoni cultural
  • béns de rellevància local
  • obres d'art de qualitat garantida
  • locals per a la realització de projectes o activitats culturals, científiques, o esportives no professionals, d'interès social.

• En què consisteix una donació?

  Consisteix en el lliurament de diners, béns o drets amb caràcter irrevocable i sense rebre cap contraprestació per a la realització d'un projecte o activitat declarat o considerat d'interès social.

• De quina forma poden realitzar els mecenes les seues aportacions a un projecte o activitat declarat o considerat d'interès social?

  La Llei 20/2018 estableix dues modalitats de mecenatge:

  • Donacions.
  • Préstecs d'ús o comodat.

• Per què ser mecenes?

  Gràcies al mecenatge es fa possible la realització de projectes i activitats culturals, científiques, i esportives no professionals, la qual cosa converteix a les persones mecenes en ciutadans compromesos i responsables, i en promotors i partícips del desenvolupament social, cultural i científic de la Comunitat Valenciana, al mateix temps que obtenen avantatges fiscals, principalment en la seua declaració de l'IRPF.

• Com s'acredita que he realitzat una donació?

  Mitjançant la certificació que té obligació d'expedir la persona o entitat beneficiària i que haurà de contenir, almenys, els següents extrems: 

  1. Nom i cognoms o denominació social i número d'identificació fiscal tant del donant com del beneficiari (donatari).
  2. Menció expressa que la persona o l'entitat beneficiària (donatària) es troba inclosa entre els beneficiaris del mecenatge contemplats en l'article 3 de la Llei 20/2018.
  3. Data i import de la donació quan aquesta siga dinerària.
  4. Data i import de la valoració de la donació en el supòsit de donacions no dineràries.
  5. Data, import de la valoració i durada de la donació en el cas de la constitució d'un dret real d'usdefruit.
  6. En el cas de donacions no dineràries o constitució d'un dret real d'usdefruit, haurà d'aportar-se document públic o un altre document autèntic que acredite el lliurament del ben donat o la constitució del dret d'usdefruit.
  7. Destinació que la persona o entitat beneficiària (donatària) donarà a la donació rebuda.

• Qui poden ser mecenes?

  Qualsevol persona física o jurídica pot ser mecenes però només poden acollir-se als beneficis fiscals previstos en la Llei 20/2018, de 25 de juliol, de la Generalitat, del mecenatge cultural, científic, i esportiu no professional, en la Comunitat Valenciana les persones físiques que tinguen el seu domicili fiscal en la Comunitat Valenciana.

• How can I request a pre-admission letter?

  Pre-admission letters can be issued once the pre-enrolment period starts. From this date, those candidates who have completed the online pre-enrolment process can request a pre-admission letter to the address postgrau@uv.es, to use it to apply for a scholarship or for any other relevant purposes. 

• I have been admitted in a master’s degree, how and when do I enrol?

  It depends on when the admission was resolved. Successful candidates who submitted their pre-enrolment application in Ordinary Phase may enrol online second half of July. • What happens if I have been admitted to a master’s degree and I do not enrol within the period established?

  Candidates who have been admitted to a master’s degree and do not enrol within the period established will lose their right to the place initially allocated to them, which will be offered to applicants on the waiting list or made available in the next pre-enrolment phase, as appropriate.

  If you have been admitted in pre-enrolment Extraordinary Phase and you do not enrol within the deadline set, you can ask the Student Services if there are any places available.

• Can I amend the pre-enrolment application that I submitted or attach new documents to it?

  Candidates cannot amend their pre-enrolment application once it has been submitted. If they wish to make changes they must withdraw their application and submit a new one within the deadline set for pre-enrolment. To do so, they must access their application at “My procedures” in the Online Office (ENTREU) and choose the options offered.

  To attach documents to their application, candidates must access “My procedures” in the Online Office (ENTREU). There they can check the applications that they have submitted and choose the master’s degree pre-enrolment application. The column called “Actions” offers the option to attach documents.

• Do I have to present a paper copy of my disability certificate?

  No. It would be sufficient to add this document in an electronic form to the pre-enrolment application. The degree of disability indicated in the certificate must be equal to or greater than 33%.

  In general, you are not required to submit paper documents.

• What documents do I have to attach to my online application to be admitted to a master’s degree?

  Generally, together with your online application, you must submit an electronic copy of: 

  • The university degree certificate required to be eligible for admission to the master’s degree studies.
  • The academic transcript of marks obtained in the university studies required to be eligible for admission to the master’s degree, which must include the average mark. Foreign students must indicate theiraccording to the procedure established by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (http://ir.uv.es/30OjEww). Candidates failing to provide a mark in this 10-point scale will be given an admission average mark of 5 points.
  • DNI (Spanish citizens), NIE (residents in Spain) or passport (foreign citizens). 

  Additionally, each master’s degree may require other supporting documents according to the specific requirements that may have been established. Refer to the section “Documents to be submitted” for further information.

• In what cases must supporting documents be legalised or apostilled?

  In case a university degree is issued by the university outside the European Union or any signatory countries to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or to the bilateral agreement with the European Union, you should add to the electronic application legalized or apostilled and translated, if necessary, supporting documents. To process the electronic application, the university requires the documents to be added in an electronic format to the pre-enrolment application.

• When can I request an admission letter?

  When the results of the pre-enrolment phase in which you participated have been notified and published, you will be able to download your admission letter through “My personal site” in the Online Office (ENTREU). This electronic document includes a digital signature and a secure verification code (CSV) through which its validity can be verified by any official body.

• I am a foreign student. Do I need a visa to gain admission to a master’s degree?

• What does the admission process to a master’s degree involve?

  Each master’s degree has an Academic Coordinating Committee that runs the degree. As part of the admission process, after each of the phases in which pre-enrolment is organised, these committees meet and assess the candidates’ applications. As a result, the Student Services publish the list of candidates admitted, included on the waiting list and excluded. Additionally, each applicant is individually notified by email of the final result of the process. 

• Are there master’s degree taught totally in English?

• What is the cost of a master’s degree course at the UV?

  The UV is a public university so the price to take studies here is set yearly by the regional government. Each master’s degree webpage, published in the Student Services website, specifies the price per credit for that degree. The approximate price of a master’s degree can be calculated by multiplying the number of credits by the price per credit and adding 30€ for administrative fees.

• Is the price of a master’s degree higher for foreign students?

  Yes, according to the Decree established by law by the Valencian Government each year,Foreign students who do not have resident status will be charged double the amount of the public prices established in Annex I for university academic services (excluding nationals of Member States of the European Union and those to whom the European Community regime is applicable). The corresponding price may not exceed one hundred per cent (100%) of the cost of the academic service.

  On the other hand, those students who access the master’s degree course through a university qualification issued outside the European Higher Education Area that has not been officially recognised will be charged a €155.22 fee, payable through the electronic pre-enrolment application form by bank card, for the process of verification of equivalence of the foreign qualification.

• Can I study more than one Master’s degree in the same year?

  Yes. However, UV students may enrol in a maximum of 72 ECTS credits per year and must enrol in a minimum of 24 ECTS credits in each of the two master’s degrees. During pre-enrolment, the candidate can only be admitted to one master’s degree. So as new students, they can only enrol in one master's degree.

• Can I study a master’s degree course on a part-time basis?

  Yes, the enrolment regulations of the UV allow students to enrol in a master’s degree on a part-time basis. Part-time students take only between 24 and 36 ECTS credits per year. 

• When do the fees or costs of a master’s degree have to be payed?

  Enrolment fees are payable in September or October, depending on the date of enrolment. The university allows payment in eight monthly instalments. Payment can also be made by credit card (in full or in instalments), so a Spanish bank account is not required.

• Do I have to have completed the studies corresponding to the Master's entrance qualification in order to pre-register for the Master's degree?

  No, pre-enrolment in the master's degree programme is open to those who are in one of these situations:

  1. Students who are in possession of an official university degree that gives access to Master's studies, or who are in the process of obtaining it, at the latest by the dates indicated in the calendar on the website https://ir.uv.es/ixsr0oz.
  2. Students of a Bachelor's Degree offered by a university of the European Higher Education Area who have a maximum of 9 ECTS credits left to pass the Final Degree Project.

  In any case, students in possession of a university degree will have priority in enrolment over students in case b). Therefore, students who have yet to complete the Final Degree Project and up to a maximum of 9 ECTS credits will only be able to access the master's degree if, once enrolment has been completed and the waiting list of students accessing with completed studies has been called up, there are still vacant places on the master's degree.

• Do I have to be physically present in the waiting list call?

  No, you don’t. The call of candidates from the waiting list is not made face-to-face. The Student Services staff will make the admission offers following the order of the waiting list according to the number of places available after the enrolment period.

  The result of the waiting list call is notified to the students who are now admitted to a master’s degree.

• How long are the master’s degree courses?

  Official master’s degree last either one or two years, that is, between 60 and 120 ECTS credits. 

• When does the pre-enrolment period for a master’s degree start?

  Pre-enrolment in an official master’s degree for the academic year starting in September is open during the previous months February to June (Ordinary Phase) and July to September (Extraordinary Phase). Once approved the calendar, usually in Februrary, the exact dates will be available at: https://ir.uv.es/F5o1XDL During these two periods, candidates may apply through the UV Online Office.

• Is previous professional experience needed to be admitted to a master’s degree?

  No. In some cases it may be a criterion for determining the order of candidates if a lot of applications have been received, but it is never a requirement.

• What is an ECTS?

  An ECTS credit is the measurement used in order to establish the length of university studies. The price of university studies is also calculated on the basis of the price of an ECTS credit. 

• Is it possible to access the Master’s Degree in Law Practice or the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology with a foreign qualification?

  In these two cases, foreign degrees have to be validated even if they have been issued by an educational institution that is part of the EHEA.

• What is the difference between pre-enrolment and enrolment?

  Pre-enrolment is a process that takes place before enrolment during which applications for a course are assessed and the places available are allocated. Therefore, the final step in the pre-enrolment process is to notify candidates if they have been admitted, included on the waiting list or excluded.

  Enrolment is therefore a process that follows pre-registration. Only students admitted in the corresponding pre-registration phase who, in addition, have accredited the completion of the studies that give access to the Master's degree can enrol in the established period (see the exact dates at: https://ir.uv.es/ixsr0oz). Once the enrolment period and the waiting list appeals have been completed, if places are still available, students who have been admitted and who have pending studies (TFG/Final Year Project and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits) may enrol.
