Luisa de Medrano Grants for students awarded a SICUE mobility place for 2026-2027
INFORMATION ON ARRIVAL CERTIFICATES
We remind you that, in order to be eligible for the grant, you must first comply with the obligations established in the regulatory framework approved in August.
Please note that:
- The call for applications has not yet been published. We will inform you of the application submission period once the call is published.
- The grants are expected to be awarded and paid during the first four months of 2027.
- Not all SICUE students will receive the grant. Grants will be awarded according to the selection criteria established in the call for applications.
- The application process will be completed by means of the applicant’s advanced electronic signature.
Article 5(a) establishes that beneficiaries are required to:
“Join the host university of the SICUE mobility placement for which the grant is awarded no more than fifteen days before the scheduled start date. Failure to join within the specified period will be understood as a renunciation of the grant.”
For this reason, we ask you to submit your arrival certificate at the host university as soon as possible, as proof of your enrolment/arrival at the host institution.
The document must be uploaded to your SICUE application file through Entreu, using the section provided for submitting documentation.
It is important that you complete this procedure as soon as possible, as compliance with this obligation is necessary in order to be eligible for the Medrano grant.
The vicerectorat d’Internacionalització, Cooperació i Multilingüisme de la Universitat de València provides information on the forthcoming Luisa de Medrano Grants call, aimed at students who have been awarded a mobility place within the SICUE national mobility programme for the 2026-2027 academic year.
These grants, promoted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, revive the spirit of the former Séneca Grants and aim to contribute to covering the expenses arising from the change of residence associated with academic mobility within Spain.
According to the information provided by the Ministry, the main expected features are the following:
- Financial support: up to €8,100 for the full academic year (€900 per month for nine months), expected to be paid in a single instalment to facilitate the student’s relocation to the destination.
- Essential requirement: students must have been awarded a SICUE mobility place and the mobility period must involve a change of province in order to undertake face-to-face studies.
- Expected timeline: although the official call has not yet been published, students awarded a SICUE mobility place are expected to be able to apply at the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year. The grants are expected to be awarded and paid during the first semester of the academic year.
- Compatibility: this grant will be compatible with the Ministry’s General Grant, except for the residence component.

These are competitive grants; therefore, funding will only be awarded to applicants who are selected in accordance with the eligibility and selection criteria to be established in the final call.
