1. Apply for your internship: curricular or extracurricular

Academic internships are a learning activity which allows students to apply and complement their knowledge acquired in their academic training in companies or institutions, under the supervision of an adviser of the entity or an academic supervisor from the Universitat de València.

ADEIT is responsible for the organisation and the internships management of the University, under the running of the Office of the Vice-Rector for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment. Remember that you cannot start an internship until you have received the formalised internship agreement from ADEIT.

 

There are two types:

  • Curricular internships

They are included in the curriculum as a subject. Before applying, check the requirements and consult the available offers for each degree in offers per degree.

  • Extracurricular internships

These are voluntary and can be completed during your studies, but they are not linked to a subject. You can complete up to 900 hours per academic year (with the exception of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Science in which it is only allow to do 180 hours).

You will not be able to undertake extracurricular internships in September only.

To apply:

  • Option 1: CHOOSE THE AVAILABLE OPTIONS. You can choose among the available offers per degree. Send your CV to the contact person and note that you are a student of the Universitat de València.
    • Deadline: 30 June 2026. The offer for the 2026-2027 academic year will be reactivated in September 2026.
  • Option 2: AUTOPRACTICUM. You can submit their option for the internships via the Student Selection Announcement with 10 days in advance, if it is paid, or 30 days, if it is not. Follow the guide according to the degree to apply for you autopracticum.  
    • Deadline: 10 July 2026. It will be reactivated in September 2026.

 

2. Before you start your internship
  • Certificate of Sexual Offences

For those practices involving regular contact with minors, a negative certificate from the Sexual Offenders Register issued by the Ministry of Justice is required.

The Universitat de València will inform students on what internships have this factor. The certificate must be provided to both the Universitat de València (attached to http://intranet.uv.es/portal), as well as, the entity in which the internships are completed.

For foreigners or students with dual nationality, the equivalent certification from their home country must to be properly translated and legalised.

Once issued, the certificate has permanent validity.

  • Data Protection Guide

This Data Protection for Students Guide offers the main instructions on how to complete the internship obeying the regulations in matters of data protection during the development of the internship, both in private and public entities.

3. During your internship
  • Insurance and protection during your internship

During the internships, the students have to have on the corresponding insurance coverage, which varies depending on the function of the internship type and in the country of realisation.
In Spain:

In countries from the European Union

  • Healthcare: you must have the European Health Insurance Card.
  • Accidents: the students must have accident insurance with the OnCampus company and provide the policy before starting the internship.
  • Civil liability: the policy of the Universitat de València covers internships of under 60 days. For longer internships, a specific insurance must be authorised.

In countries from the rest of the world

  • Having healthcare, an accident and a civil liability insurance with the OnCampus company is compulsory. The corresponding policy must be provided before the start of the internship.

During the development of your internship, there are incidences or changes that may occurred which have to be informed to ADEIT, following the established procedure.

  • Incidences during the internship

Before any incidence, you must consult the General Incidence Protocol and follow the established instructions.

  • Internship interruption

If you interrupt your internship, you must send to ADEIT, via email and with a copy to the advisers, the internship interruption form within 10 days since its occurrence.

  • Internship data modification

When a modification is done to the data in the internship agreement, the advisers of the company must submit to ADEIT the data modification form within 10 days since the modification.

  • Internship continuation (extension)

In order to continue an extracurricular internship, the adviser of the entity must send to ADEIT the internship extension form.

 

4. Once you have completed your internship

Once the internship has been completed, the students must hand a final report to both their company or entity advisers and the University.

Completed the internship period, the students will request from their entity advisers a certificate with express mention of the speciality in which their training has focused, its length and, if applicable, their performance.

6. Internships of specific degrees: specific aspects

Internships linked to specific degrees feature some peculiarities in their own management and proceedings in contrast to official degrees.
Proceedings:

  • Students must directly search for the company or entity in which the internship will take place.
  • Entities must inform the selection of the student via the Student Selection Announcement form.
  • The programme of activities must feature the approval of the academic person in charge of the degree itself, which must be requested by the students.

Realisation period:
The start of the internship can be set since de official date of beginning of the degree itself.
The end will depend on the length of the degree:

  • Until 30 September, if the degree starts and ends in the same academic year.
  • Until the official end date of the degree, if the postgraduate course is continued the following year.
  • Internship cannot be done exclusively in September.
