Information updated on 18/05/2026

The Universitat de València supports conducting external academic internships for all students, and providing to society better prepared professionals.

The obligation to include them in Social Security is responsibility of the enterprise or entity that welcomes them. In the case of unpaid internships, the current legal framework enables the University to be the one that assumes this obligation. In this sense, and for the 2025/2026 academic year, the Universitat de València will take responsibility for this inclusion unless the enterprise or entity that welcomes the unpaid internship students specifically indicates that it assumes the inclusion itself.

You have the tutorial available

Days of contribution during the registration period
  • The University will communicate to the TGSS the INTERNSHIP DAYS quarterly.
  • The definitive number of CONTRIBUTED days will properly appear in the Employment History Report the following month to each of the four quarters of the year.

Each day of training internships will be considered 1,61 contributed days, without surpassing, under any circumstances, the number of days of the corresponding month. The parts of a day that can result in the previous coefficient will be counted as a full day.
  • The TGSS will revise periodically the contributed days, in terms of the expected exclusion causes. In case of being affected by any of them, the period of days that has been communicated to the university will not appear in the Employment History Report of the student.

  • You can find here a guide to consult your contributed days as an internship student
