A posted worker is an individual authorized by the University to perform specific work in another country for a limited period, or to carry out work activities on a temporary basis in a country other than that of their habitual residence.
Only personnel affiliated with the General Social Security Scheme must notify the Social Security Section (desplazamientos@uv.es) of their temporary stay outside Spain.
The Social Security Section will forward information regarding the posting to the General Treasury of the Social Security (TGSS), which will issue a document certifying—in the destination country—that the worker remains subject to Spanish Social Security legislation; this also guarantees the legally applicable healthcare coverage.
Step 1: Complete the SOCIAL SECURITY DATA NOTIFICATION FORM with all details regarding your trip.
Step 2: Send the form, along with the travel authorization from your Department, Center, Service, or Unit, to the email address (desplazamientos@uv.es).
THIS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO THE TRIP'S START DATE, REGARDLESS OF ITS DURATION.
Step 3: The Social Security Section will request authorization from the TGSS, depending on the destination country.
Step 4: The TGSS will issue a decision certifying that the employee remains subject to Spanish Social Security legislation while traveling in that country and is, consequently, exempt from making Social Security contributions in the destination country.
Step 5: The Social Security Section will send you the decision along with information regarding healthcare coverage during your trip.
Step 1: You must complete the SOCIAL SECURITY DATA NOTIFICATION and send the completed document to the email address (desplazamientos@uv.es).
It is also advisable to send confirmation or authorization of the trip from your department, center, service, or unit along with the travel schedule.
THIS MUST ALWAYS BE DONE PRIOR TO THE START DATE OF THE TRIP, REGARDLESS OF ITS DURATION.
Step 2: The Social Security Section, acting on behalf of the posted worker, will submit the request to the General Treasury of the Social Security (TGSS).
Step 3: The TGSS issues a decision, which the Social Security Section will forward to the posted worker.
