When an employee affiliated with the General Social Security Scheme ceases to be employed at the University of Valencia for any of the legally established reasons, they can apply to the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) for unemployment benefits, if they have contributed for this purpose.
When an employee leaves the University of Valencia for any of the legally established reasons, they can apply for unemployment benefits from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE). To do so, the Social Security Section must issue a Company Certificate with the necessary information for the SEPE to calculate the amount of the contributory benefit.

You have fifteen business days from the day after your employment ends or from the day your remaining vacation time, if applicable, to apply.
Provided that our department has confirmed the SEPE's receipt of your Company Certificate, you can apply for benefits through the following methods:
- In person: You must schedule an appointment with the SEPE.

- Online: You will need a digital signature and authentication method, i.e., a username and password obtained through the Cl@ve system, a Digital Certificate, or an electronic ID card (DNIe).
