I am an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department of the Faculty of Economics at the Universitat de València. I hold a degree in Business Administration and Management from the same university. Additionally, I have completed the Pedagogical Adaptation Course (CAP), which is equivalent to the current Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching at the University of Valencia. I furthered my university education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Accounting, Auditing, and Management Control, with a specialization in Auditing, from the University of Valencia. In the professional realm, I possess extensive knowledge and experience as an expert accountant and accounts analyst, having fulfilled these roles in both small and medium-sized companies across various sectors, as well as in cooperatives. Within the teaching domain, I teach Accounting and Financial Statements Analysis in the Business Administration and Management and Economics programs. Additionally, I teach accounting in the Master's Degree in Social Economy (Cooperatives and Non-Profit Organizations) at the University of Valencia. Concurrently, I actively participate in educational innovation activities through various projects awarded by the Servei de Formació Permanent i Innovació Educativa (SFPIE) of the University of Valencia. These projects aim to progressively incorporate sustainability into the academic guides of the subjects I teach.

Biography | ||
Full Professor of Finance and Accounting in the Department of Accounting of the Faculty of Economics. PhD in Economic and Business Administration from the Universitat de València, awarded by his outstanding PhD thesis. Regarding his research activity, he is the director of several research lines included in META (Management Reports, Transparency, Accounting Education and Reliability of Financial Information), in the Research Structure Registered. He has conducted and participated in several competitive research projects, performing transparency actions with public and private entities. He is the author of numerous articles in indexed journals (WOS, SCOPUS) and several research monographies in institutions as IVIE, CNMV or AECA. He has five six-year terms of certified research activity and one six-year term of transfer of knowledge and innovation. As a professor, he has conducted several courses in undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Economics. He has leaded projects of educational innovation and is the responsible for a consolidated group of teaching innovation. He has six five-year terms of certified teaching activity. From 2016 to 2020 he was chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Accounting University Professors (ASEPUC). From 2013 to 2021, on representation of Other Entities Representing Collective Interests, he was a General Counselor of Caixa Ontinyent. During the same period, he was a Member of the Board of Directors and a Member of its Executive and Management Committee. From 2017 to 2021, he was a member of the Investment Committee of the same financial institution. At the present, he is Coordinator in Doctoral Program in Accounting and Corporate Finance. At the University of Valencia, he was Director of the Accounting Departament (2009-2012), member of the Statutes Commission (2009-2013), member of the Commission for the elaboration of the Syllabus of the degree in Business Administration and Management and of the Commission for the elaboration of the Syllabus of the official master's degree in Accounting, Auditing and Management Control, Rector's Delegate for the Management of the EDEM University Centre (2012-2014), Vice-Rector for Economics, Infrastructures and Information Technologies (2014-2018) and Vice-Rector for Economics and Infrastructures (2018-2019). He has been a member of the Board of the Faculty of Economics and has been a member of the Senate since 2009. |

Biography | ||
David Huguet Benavent holds a Degree in Business Administration and Management (2007), a Master’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing and Management Control, with Exceptional Award (2009), and a PhD in Accounting (2014) from University of Valencia. He had a Pre-doc stay in the Department of Accounting and Information Management at University of Maastricht (2013) and a postdoc stay in the Department of Accounting and Finance at University of Bristol (2015). He is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting at University of Valencia. His research interests are focused on the fields of auditing, the analysis of differences between national and international accounting standards, and the transparency and reliability of the corporate information in the digital environment. He is a member of the research group META “Management reporting, transparency, accounting education and reliability of the financial information”, and he has participated in the research project ECONIIF “Economic consequences of the adoption of the IFRS in Europe: The influence of the institutional differences and the economic cycle”. He has been the main researcher in the project "Textual analysis and sentiment analysis of corporate reporting (CORTEX)". He has also collaborated in several projects for the development of management accounting systems. He is a member of the Consolidated Educational Innovations Group “Preparation of multimedia resources for teaching in accounting”; he has been the main researcher in two projects, and has participated in three more. He has also participated in the Project “Ètica” at the Faculty of Economics. Also, he is Degree Coordinator for the Degree in Business Intelligence & Analytics. He has been the Academic Coordinator of Mobility for the Degree in Tourism and the Degree in Finance and Accounting for five years. Also, he is a member of the Academic Coordination Committee of the Master’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing and Management Control, and a member of the Academic Coordination Committee of the Doctoral Programme in Accounting and Corporate Finance. |

Paloma Merello holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2010). She has a Master's degree in Data Analysis Engineering (2011) and two doctorates, one in Business Administration and Management (Polytechnic University of Valencia, 2013) and an International doctorate in Statistics and Operations Research (Polytechnic University of Valencia, 2015). She currently carries out her teaching and research activities in the Department of Accounting at the University of Valencia. She specializes in Mathematical Modeling applied to Finance and Accounting, consumption disorders and social behavior, and preventive conservation of Cultural Heritage. She has been the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project "Non-rational decision dynamics: behavioral economics in financial and non-financial information" (ECOMINFO, 2020-2025), funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Merello actively participates in programs related to high intellectual abilities. She is the PI of the educational innovation project "Identification and promotion of university talent" at UV since the 22-2 academic year, Coordinator of the Talent Development and Educational Innovation Group in Accounting and Sustainability (GCID23_2573293) registered in the Registry of Consolidated Teaching Innovation Groups of the University of Valencia, and a member of the GIEDAC group (code GCID23_2588436). Biography | ||
Araceli Mora is a full professor in Accounting and Finance at the University of Valencia (Spain), and President (2025-2028) of the European Accounting Association (EAA), in which she held several senior positions, including editor-in-chief of "Accounting in Europe". Her research interest mainly focuses on IFRS, corporate reporting quality, the usefulness of the information in the capital markets, and the role of public interest in financial and sustainability reporting. She is a member of the EFRAG Academic Panel and served in EFRAG as a TEG member (2009-2015). She is an editorial board member of Accounting in Europe, European Accounting Review, Accounting and Business Research and Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting (past editor), among others. In Spain, she participated in the elaboration of the Spanish GAAP (PGC 2007) and has been a member of the advisory committee for the elaboration of the current Spanish GAAP (PGC 2021). She is a Member of the Accounting Principles Commission of the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA) and director of the network “Financial Reporting and Analysis” of the Spanish Association of Accounting Academics (ASEPUC). She has been a member of the Commission for the evaluation of research in the Economics and Business and field (CNEAI), past president in 2011, the assessment of transfer of knowledge (2018) and the technical advisory committee of the ANECA Director (2013-2015). At the University of Valencia, she teaches at the Degree of International Business and Degree in Business, and PhD program on “Accounting and Corporate Finance.
