The ‘IV International Seminar on Artistic Diagnosis’, the result of collaboration between the National Gallery of Ancient Art in Rome, the Department of Art History of the Universitat de València and Emmebi Diagnostica Artistica-Roma, will take place at Palazzo Barberini on the next 20 and 21 April and will be enriched by a workshop dedicated to the famous “false Pompeian” with Jupiter and Ganymede, painted by Anton Raphael Mengs.

The International Seminar on Artistic Diagnosis was established by the Master's Degree in Permanent Training in Artistic Diagnosis and Authentication of Works of Art of the Universitat de València in April 2019. Since its first edition, this meeting aims to bring together great experts from artistic diagnosis in Europe, on a rotating basis between Spain and Italy. Costanza Miliani (CNR-ISPC), Catarina Miguel (Universidade Évora, Portugal) or Philippe Walter (LAMS-CNRS, Paris), are specialists with great international recognition who are part of this year's program. The inaugural conference will be dedicated to the research project of the spezieria of Santa Maria della Scala, Rome, directed for years from the Department of Art History of the Universitat de València.
