Today, 23 January, the Cultural Centre La Nau hosts the presentation of the book ‘Escritos sobre teatro de Josep Lluís Sirera’. The ceremony, which is part of the programming of the Theatre Club of the UV, will take place in Sala Matilde Salvador, at 19:00h.
‘Escritos sobre teatro de Josep Lluís Sirera’, edited by the Spanish Academy for Performing Arts, is the number four of the book collection of the Academy. This compiles works of specialists and authors related to performing arts, as well as research projects and different contributions that are made in congresses and seminars.
After the death of the academician Josep Lluís Sirera, it was published a volume with a selection of articles and essays written by the author throughout his teaching and research career in the field of theatre, with the unique aim of bringing his work closer to the non-specialist public.This work is also an introduction to the academic research carried out by Sirera.
The academicians Juan V. Martínez Luciano and Rodolf Sirera are the people in charge of the selection. Rosa Sanmartín, researcher and disciple of Sirera, has also collaborated in the selection of texts and in the prologue of the book. In the volume appear contributions of Josep Lluís Sirera to some of his subjects of study and cover several moments of the history of the theatre.
The ceremony will also count on the participation of the vice-principal for Culture and Equality, Antonio Ariño; the second vice-president of the Spanish Academy for Performing Art, Roángeles Valls. Juan Vicente Martínez Luciano, Rodolf Sirera and Rosa Sanmartín will also participate.
