In March, Friends and Former Students will celebrate the seventh edition of the Taste Course of vegetarian cuisine

The cultural programming of Friends and Former Students continues in March with seven activities. Book Club, talks, excursions to the Valencian castles and a new edition of the Taste Course, this time of vegetarian cuisine, make up the proposals of the collective of Universitat de València.

The nutrition market has had to make place for the new emerging market which is rising in the last years: the market of a vegetarian diet. This is the reason why Friends and Former Students, together with Valencia Club Cocina, organise the seventh edition of Tastes on Vegetarian Cuisine. On 26th March, future chefs will learn how to elaborate a healthy menu consisting on a tomato cold soup and red fruits; peas and mint curd; cheese and spinach croquets; fresh garlic risotto and “chia”; and fried pineapple with kataifi.

In this course you will be offered a cooking training class with a professional chef; a recipe book and the necessary utensils to learn; and a tasting of the elaborated dishes at the hall with either water or D.O. Valencia wine.

Free activities

On the other hand, free activities are still in progress. These are the ones of Friends and Former Students, such as the Reading Club, which on 3rd March it will focus on the “La conjura contra América” work, by Philip Roth; and Alumni Comparteix, which, in this occasion, will consist on a talk that will expose the secrets of a mortgage. It will be given by Asunción Capilla, a risk analyst and a collective member on 11th March at 17.30h at AlumniUV seat (Amadeu de Savoia 4, Valencia).

The rest of the activities, organised with the collaboration of Club de Viatges Fil-per-Randa, have a financial support from the Universitat collective. On 8th March, Friends members will go to the Vinalopó spring, where they will do an interesting green route, and to the Valle de Agres, in order to know the landscape it offers, such as the Banyeres legendary castle.

After the Fallas fest, the trips around the Valencian territory will be resumed. On 29th March, there will be a trip, on the one hand, alongside the Palancia river, where you can visit the sceneries of the Civil War of the Sierra de Andilla. On the other hand, a botanical interpretation will be performed at that same place, Andilla-Alcublas, through a green route of low level of difficulty.
