The municipality of Chella exhibits 'La Universitat de València I els seus entorns: el Massís del Caroig' ('Universitat de València and its environments: Caroig’s massif'). The opening was on Sunday 2nd August, at the Cultural Centre of Chella. This show revises the natural and cultural heritage of this natural space, a territory that despite being one of the most unique of the Valencian geography is unknown for many citizens.

The travelling exhibition of Universitat de València on Caroig's massife was exhibited in the main regional heads of the Province of Valencia throughout 2012, and now, three years later, it is recovered to be shown in Chella (Canal de Navarrés) where the local government, on the occassion of the local celebrations, expressly wanted to host this exhibit so that the citizenship can enjoy it again. Chella's mayor, José Enrique Talón, and the councillor of Education and Culture, Elena Natalia Pascual, will open the exhibit on Sunday 2nd August at the Cultural Centre of Chella.

This exposure analyses from different perspectives the natural space of Caroig's massif and its environment, situated in the south east of the Province of Valencia, at the heart of the Valencian interior. The study area covers approximately thirty municipalities that complete a surface of 2.500km2. It is a vast area with a high level of natural territory and a very low population density. The Caroig's massif meets the environmental values that make it worthy of being declared a Natural Park. Universitat de València, through the office of the vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation aims to make the most of the Universitat researchers and of the spaces that were forgotten from a long time ago, as is the case of Caroig's massif, with this exposure.

The multidisciplinarity constitutes one of the main characteristics of this exhibit. In the makinf of the 24 panels have collaborated professors and researchers from several departments of the Universitat, who have worked together with the objective of bringing together different subjects in a very complete exposure that details all the fundamental aspects that define the natural space of the Caroig's massif.

The vice-principal, Jorgue Hermosilla, explained that this exposure is "pioneer in the history of the Caroig's massif and its environment, due to its general and multidisciplinary character. Besides, the vice-principal emphasised that this work meticulously covers the fundamental components that define this territory: geographical context of the natural space, Iberian, Roman and medieval archaeology; the Moorish and Muela de Cortes, environmental economy, hiking and cave paintings, Caroig and its holidays, meandering canyons, the medicinal plants and tools, the vegetation, the fishes, amphibians and reptiles, palaentology, toponymy, etc.

The exposure is open to the public from the 2nd to the 31st August at the Cultural Centre of Chella. The neighbours of the town and its surroundings could visit it from the 2nd to the 7th August from 10:00h to 13:00h and from 19:00 to 21:00h. The rest of the month of August the opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 10:00h to 13:00h.
