The Network of Clinics of the University of Valencia already has medical clinics specialized in nutrition and inclusive physical activity and physiotherapy

University Clinic of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Physiotherapy (CUNAFF-VLC/CAMPUS) is the result of the Unique Educational Equipment Programme of the International Campus of Excellence (CEI) VLC/CAMPUS funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

This new clinic at the University of Valencia is managed by the Lluís Alcanyís Foundation, a socio-health care foundation which manages the network of clinics of the University of Valencia. This network of clinics includes the infrastructure and a unique educational equipment, specialized in the area of health, which develops training activities, health care related to educational process of the students of the University of Valencia, as well as research related to their area of activity. 

The Clinic is composed of two clinics, Nutritional Clinic VLC/CAMPUS, and the Inclusive Physical Activity Clinic VLC/CAMPUS. 

Within the Nutritional Clinic there are two units, one of Nutrition where personalizes treatments for pathologies, allergies, intolerances or food disorders will be carried out, in addition to diets for people with different disabilities, rare diseases, or special care such as pregnancy, older people or athletes. This unit also offers various training courses and activities, besides offering services dedicated to nutrition as body composition studies. The second unit of the Clinical Nutrition is dedicated to Smoking Cessation, which provides services for the analysis of behaviour, motivation, pharmacological therapies, healthy habits workshops...

The Inclusive Physical Activity Clinic VLC/CAMPUS also consists of two units. Physiotherapy Unit, which provides treatment for neurorehabilitation, trauma physiotherapy, sports, etc., and the Inclusive Physical Activity Unit, which provides advice service and facilities for the cardiovascular exercise, muscle strengthening, active videogames, and physical activities adapted rehabilitation programmes, among others.

Moreover, the CUNAFF comprises a multidisciplinary team of socio-health care professionals that attend us in different specializations we need, in addition to successfully deal with the treatment required for a global intervention.

In the context of the open innovation model of the VLC/CAMPUS programme and around this University Clinic it has formed a specific network of innovation with a number of associations and social groups that aims to identify the needs of society and users of these associations to introduce some improvements, on the one hand, in the students’ learning process and collaborate in joint research initiatives and, on the other hand, to adapt and improve the services the Clinic offers. 

Among the organizations collaborating with the new university clinic in this Innovation Network we find: companies like the Coeliac Association of the Valencian Community (ACECOVA), Asindown Foundation, the Association of People with Spinal Injury and Great physical disabilities of the Valencian Community (ASPAYM CV), the Diabetes Association of Valencia, the Valencian Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of the province (region) of Valencia (Valencia COCEMFE), the Valencian Community Foundation FESORD for Integration and Overcoming of Communication Barriers (FESORD CV) and the Association of Nutritionists and Dieticians of Valencia (CODiNuCoVa).
