Professor Paula Jardón will coordinate the Centre for Didactics of Heritage, a new entity launched by the Institute of Educational Creativity and Innovation (ICIE). Jarón is professor of the Department of Teaching and Scholastic Organisation and vice-dean of international relationships and external internships of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences.

As the director of ICIE, Rubén Huerta, states, the initiative is part of the research and development trajectory related to the teaching action in museums and patrimonial spaces of the institute researchers. Some of the ICIE members, remembers Huerta, have participated, promoted and developed training courses, diplomas and master’s degrees, exhibitions and teaching activity programmes directly related to the didactics of heritage and the museums. “One of the landmarks of this trajectory is the postgraduate “Art Education and Museum  Management” that has trained to almost 300 professionals throughout the 14 consecutive editions, and from which it has born the  Educators in Museums and Heritages Valencian Association (AVALEM)”, highlights the ICIE director.

The objectives of the Centre for Didactics of Heritage, explains Huerta, are: to develop researches in the field of museum and patrimonial education in collaboration with entities, enterprises and institutions; offering training and resources to the student body of Universitat de València, especially degrees of Pedagogy, Philosophy, Social Education, Teaching, Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching, History, Art History and Tourism; to establish collaboration and intervention networks with museums, municipalities and other interest institutions and entities to develop proposals for the public an specialised researchers; and to develop projects in the national and international field with entities of the same type.
