The sports academic year starts with activities, competitions and grants

The sports academic year has started: the Universitat de València through the Physical Education and Sports Service (SEFUV) have opened the enrolment period of several activities and competitions. It has also been called financial support for adapted and high-level sports and for the first time, it has been organised the International Day of University Sport. The following 20th September more than 60 activities will take place at the three campus as well as at the Malvarrosa beach and Marina Real.

The enrolment period for the different activities organised by the SEFUV as well as for the sports school is already opened and the one for the individual sport competitions will be the following 18th September. These competitions include athletics, badminton, chess, fencing, frontenis, judo, kendo, orientation, paddle tennis, pilota valenciana, taewkondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon and beach volleyball, as well as team sports like basketball, basketball 3x3, football 7, rugby 7 and volleyball.

All the university community can take part in the activities. There will start 18th September and the sportive schools the 2nd October. The enrolment period will remain open along the academic year until all places have been filled.

September 20 is the International Day of University Sport
On the other hand, next 20th September the Universitat will hold the International Day of University Sport (IDUS) with an open free day. It will include more than 60 activities in both the morning and the evening in the three campus (Blasco Ibáñez, Burjassot and Tarongers) as well as in other external facilities like surf in Malvarrosa’s beach or sailing in the Marina Real.

Grants for adapted and high level sport
The Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sports through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality have called the regulatory bases for handicapped students and/or students with special needs resulting from a disability to receive the financial support to take part in sports competitions for the academic year 2017/2018.

Regarding the elite, high-performance and high level sport, the application submission period to benefit from the financial support programme of the 2017/2018 academic year is open. The submission deadlines ends 30th September 2017.

Once the students have been enrolled for the 2017/2018 academic year in the Universitat they have to apply for the grants through the online platform ENTREU.

Finally, the call to the awards Premios de la Fundación Trinidad Alfonso for the academic year 2016/2017 is still open and the deadline for the applications submission is 11th October 2017.
